Killian has become so mobile and very active, as all our little toddlers are by now. He's always running around at 100 mph and has gotten very good at falling. He'll scrap a knee or shin but will lay on his hands & knees for a minute, look up at you, and usually say something like "Duh!" or "Ow..." then pop up & keep going.
He was running across the living room to our kitchen to throw away some plastic and he tripped on the transition from carpet to hardwood and....

Blood everywhere, screaming, crying, kept trying to stick his fingers in his mouth as we were trying to look to make sure no teeth were broken... I was terrified! DH kept his cool and got us all through it with minimal emotional scarring.

    Ouch, that doesn't look comfortable at all.  I hope that he's feel better now that the shock has worn off a bit.

    He's much better, was back to normal in about 10 minutes (i.e. running 100 mph into my giant exercise ball & bouncing off it a good 2-3 feet). A little Tylenol to take the edge off for daycare today but the swelling went down a lot. Just dark purple with the two splits showing green.

    I'm glad he's feeling better. This current phase of trying to do everything quickly is very frightening as a parent.

    Poor little guy! L took a spill a couple months ago as DH was getting them ready for bed....apparently he fell and hit his mouth against a basket of toys. DH called me out of choir rehearsal b/c he was so freaked out over all the blood....he had me convinced we had to take the kid to the ER. :-P

    I'm glad Killian is feeling better....these things are so stressful!

    Improving every day - no swelling, the purple bruise is already fading & the splits are closing nicely. Still see a little blood trace when he starts licking/sucking at his lip when he remembers that something happened but otherwise just fabulous.

    SS12 had a similar spill when he was about 2, out picking flowers for his mama he tripped & split his eyebrow open on a rock. DH did about the same thing when he was his age too. Must be a rite of passage or something...
