TTC after 35

Saw Dr today after the whole D & C drama

And he was really positive about the haemorrhaging was just one of those things, and that there's no reason to think such a thing should happen in the future.

Also that if I do miscarry in the future or have any issues with spotting (because I'd been spotting on off for a week, and just shrugged my shoulders thinking well I have a scan on Friday so if there's a problem with baby we'll know then. It didn't occur to me that there could be a risk to my own health...and yes I know the best answer is always to talk to your Dr if there is any concern)...anyway in the future I will contact my MW asap for things to be assessed...thus hopefully avoiding things developing into a problem.

He said we should wait for 3 mths to TTC again, and while the hospital OB said I could TTC after my first period, I still feel weak and pathetic. Dr is going to check my iron levels and give me an iron transfusion if necessary.

So really it's just about getting healthy, and trying to relax about possible future pregnancies. So I probably won't have much to say over the next 3 mths, but I'll definitely be around cheering you all on!!

Best wishes ladies, and thank you for all the kind support.

  • Sounds like you got some conflicting info there, but I think holding off for 3 months and getting your body strong again sounds like good advice. Rest up and feel better soon!

  • I'm glad you are on the mend. Hopefully once your iron is up you will get your energy back. I have low iron and low platelets so I know how you are feeling right now. Take your three months rest and reevaluate then.
I really am glad you are ok.

Glad you are feeling better and the severe bleeding was nothing that could effect future pregnancies.  Hopefully you have a restful and relaxing 3 months.  FX the iron suppliments do the trick.
