Still no AF...16 months!

Has anyone out there STILL not gotten AF back???  My son is just over 16 months now, and I stopped BF at 8 months and still...nothing.  I'm not pregnant (have taken many tests) but my DH and I really want to try for #2 and I still have not gotten my period!

So...my question is, has anyone tried any herbal supplements to bring on AF? I've been researching a few different ones and want it to happen naturally, rather than just going to the Dr. and having them prescribe me a pill.

Internet research only goes so far, hoping to find some ladies with experience that can give advise! :) TIA

  • If it had been just a month or two I'd say try herbals or wait and see but eight months is a long time if you are not still nursing. I just got mine back two months ago but I was nursing until recently. I would definitely talk to a doctor, at least to get checked out. Even if you choose not take the pill to induce a period then at least see what the doc has to say.

  • I agree with PP's. I would go and see your Doctor. Have you had any bleeding at all? My dr told me that your period can be crazy when it starts up again and you can get a period for one day (that happened twice to me).

  • Just got mine for the first time this past week. My cycle has always been really wonky though.

  • I JUST got AF for the first time this past week.  I wasn't worried about it at all, especially since we're one and done.  I would have been happy if it didn't come back, actually :).  I'm not sure if it's just coincidental, but I started taking evening primrose oil (1,000 mg/day orally) a few weeks ago to balance my hormones and clear up my face. It has helped my skin alot, and maybe it played a role in AF returning.  Who knows!
