Sweaty baby!

Ok....so my sweet girl sweats like crazy in her car seat. Anyone else???? And anyone have any good ideas on how to help??

Re: Sweaty baby!

  • We have the same issue. LO also sweats a lot while she is nursing.

  • Yep.. same here. DS is still in his infant seat so I'm not sure if switching to the convertible would help with that or not. In general I've noticed that DS runs a lot warmer than I do so I've moved him on to all 9 month clothes even though his 6 month (and some 3 month) still fit easily. The 9 month are pretty loose on him and I think that helps keep him a little cooler. If we're in the car for awhile, sometimes I'll take his pants off (now that it's warmer) to help keep him cool.

The only things we've found to help in our tropical climate:
    1) no clothes
    2) rash guards instead of cotton clothing

Seriously, short sleeved rash guards--also great for baby wearing when baby gets me all sweaty too.

  • Sweaty baby here too especially when nursing or when she falls asleep in my arms. I've noticed it in the car too and it's just starting to get warmer here (low 20s)

  • DS sweats like crazy pretty much no matter where he's at; my arms, his car seat, in bed. He has DHs body temperature that's for sure.

  • Super sweaty. We bought this little fan we can clip onto the seat belts and angle at te car seat an it had helped SO much. He gets a huge smile when we turn it on.
  • Our LO sweats all of the time, not just in the car seat, but it is very bad in the car seat. It is getting into the warmer months here in Texas so I try to dress him in breathable, thin materials during these months.  I don't really know what else to do to help in the car, other than to blast the AC.

  • My DD is a sweaty car seat rider too. It's not too bad yet though since we have had cooler weather up until recently. She seems to be doing ok with just less clothes/covers. I like the fan idea.

Where do you live that it's only getting into the 20's?

68 sounds better! That's about where we are at in North Dakota. I should of realized you meant Celsius.

Sweaty baby here too. Several times I've had a huge sweat mark left from his head in the car seat! All he wears for the most part is a onesie so can't really do too much!
