LO will only drink the expensive formula

FML... It looks like we've created a monster with formula.

Since LO was born I have been EP and supplementing with formula once or twice a day. We bought the Nestle Good Start Ready to Feed individual jars. Because he would only have one or two a day, we could justify the $20 for a case of 12 individual servings.

Now that I'm about to go back to work I'm starting to wean and I bought the EXACT same brand and type of formula, but now it's the tin of powder you mix with water. Since I'm weaning he'll now go through 8 bottles of formula a day. The problem is however he will not eat the powder. He spits it out and cries for the Ready to Feed. UGH.

Since Friday, we've spent $40 on formula, and I'm about to go out and spend another $100 to get us through to next weekend!

Any suggestions?

  • Loading the player...
  • Maybe try a different brand of powder all together?
  • Are you mixing it with tap water or bottled water?  Our tap water has a somewhat strong chlorine taste and DD will not drink a bottle if we make it using the tap water.  We only use bottled water for her bottles because of this.

Can you get it as a case of the tetra packs? It's usually less expensive per oz that way. Also, see if you can get it discounted with Amazon subscribe and save
  • try the half and half, or different brand. my daughter did not like enfamil for some reason and she would spot it out as well so we use similac.

Does it come in not individual jars, but big bottles with multiple servings? Would that be less expensive?
