Short Cervix?

Just had my anatomy scan at 17 weeks and although everything looked great (as much as the tech could say) I can't help but be concerned that my cervix is on the short side. It measured 3.13 and from what I read, that is right on the short borderline. I am only 5 feet tall and weighed 105 before preg, so I am thinking maybe it is just due to me having a small frame? I had a OB apt last Fri and during a routine exam my cervix was closed and Doc said all looked good. I am really not trying to create things to worry about but this does concern me :/ All advice is appreciated.

I'm 22 weeks and have a short cervix even if its over 2.9 they won't do much but monitor. I get monitored every few weeks right now. If it goes below 2.9 then they monitor more frequently and might put you on progesterone supplements or mention a cerclage - which is probably unlikely if you are this far along (usually done by 16 weeks).

It has absolutely nothing to do with height/body frame. It can be due to family history, connective tissue issue, prior surgery like the LEEP that shortens the cervix, or just your body due to the weight of the baby.

You'll be fine. Especially since the Dr.s are aware of it.

Thank you gals! It makes me feel better knowing your stories. This is my first pregnancy so I am worried about everything. You both have helped put my mind at ease. Best of luck during your pregnancies!
