So,my OB told me at my 24 week appt to start paying attention to movement and contractions. I have googled it, and I still don't get it. I know I can ask her at my next appt, but since I am a FTM, I worry.
I don't feel anything when I put my finger on my belly. Maybe I am doing it incorrectly. I just worry I wouldn't be able to feel them because of the placenta placement.
Also, could a contraction ever feel like a kick with an anterior placenta?
Re: Counting contractions with anterior placenta
Not sure why they want you counting kicks this early.
I had an anterior placenta the first time and felt real hard kicks at 18 weeks. I have an anterior placenta this time but I also have a partial previa. Anyway, I started feeling movement at 15 weeks. I'm 26 weeks now and feel kicks and movement all over. I can see my belly morph at times when the baby moves around.
I haven't been asked to count kicks.
We just talked about doing movement counts at least once a day at my 28 week appointment. My midwives said it doesn't have to be official, just try to pay enough attention to notice movement at some point during the day.
