Our absolute favorite was the Walgreens brand diaper rash cream. It was THE THICKEST out of every brand we tried and worked like a charm!! You seriously need two hands to get it out of the tube because it's so thick. I highly recommend it.
for us Triple Paste has been the best for every day, I will say that the Desitin Max, the purple one, has the highest percentage of zinc oxide and it is also really awesome for more severe rashes
None of the above. We use Mama Medicine's Sweet Bee Magic and it works absolute wonders! Nothing else touched C's rashes, not even a prescription. We switched to this and it cleared it all up in one fell swoop, you only need a tiny bit, and you can use it on drool rash as well because it's all natural (bees' wax and olive oil) so it's ok if she rubbed it into her mouth when we put it on her chin. We order ours from Amazon.
DS had a lot of rashes when he was younger, and the only thing that really worked for us was Butt Paste. We also use a walgreens brand of healing ointment.
Also, it might help to give LO a bath then let them go without a diaper for a little bit before doing the rash cream.
Desitin worked for us then we started using the generic Target version which worked just as well and cost less so we've stuck with it. The only other type we've tried was Butt Paste and that stuff didn't work very well for DD at all.
Triple Paste, Triple Paste, Triple Paste! When DS was teething nothing else would work. This got rid of those nasty teething rashes overnight. Pricey but worth it to have on hand. Add a layer of zinc powder (like baby Gold Bond) for extra protection.
As for more average redness or less aggressive rashes, really anything I have one hand is fine, it's all about creating a barrier. I've used fancy organic balms, Aquaphor and drug store generics all with the same effect.
Coconut oil and Yum Bum Butter Therapeutic Blend for the "real" rashes (DD has sensitive skin, and so gets a little rash after every poo no matter how quick it's changed, but coconut oil clears that up).
PgAL (MC@7w 29/10/11 - lost you before we knew we had you)
Dr. Smith's diaper rash cream was my favorite, but i had a really hard time finding it when we moved to oklahoma, so I switched to butt paste. I started out with Destin but DS would cry when I put it on so I assumed it burned his skin.

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.
