Nursing Bra's - help!

Hi Ladies,

So before even getting pregnant, I was well endowed in the chest.  So it was no surprise to me that I grew to Gigantic proportions during pregnancy.   However, it's getting a little ridiculous at this point - And I am having one heck of a time finding nursing bra's that are both supportive and comfortable.  Has anyone out there with a similar predicament found a nursing bra that works well for them?   I'm talking like 46 DDD/E at this point.  the Maternirty stores I've looked at (Motherhood) carries an 46F and I bought a couple, but they're very structured and not the most comfortable.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Re: Nursing Bra's - help!

  • I don't know how helpful this is, but I live in nursing tank tops. I find them much more comfortable than nursing bras, and easier to bf in. However, my boobs aren't that big. I'm a C cup and they provided enough support for me, but I'm not sure if they'd work for you. Maybe try one on at a maternity store to see if they'd work.

  • everybody seems to love bravado for nursing bras but I found that they were just ugly, made my boobs just look like a couch and weren't all that comfortable. I personally consider my boob transformation amazing. was a 32 c, to a pregnant 36 D or DD by the end then after having the baby went to a 32 DDD or larger in cup. I've remained a DD since ending nursing. regardless, with the ever changing sizes, MAJAMAS were comfortable but not too too supportive bras that I lived during pregnancy & for nursing & even after! their cotton bras run true to size so if you'd wear a lg or xlg according to their sizing, your boobs still will fit in the cup. they are wireless. I recently bought the racerback ones and needed to size up which leave the overall bra a little large but I know it will fit wonderful for insane giant post preg boobs!

I'm a 36D and bought my first nursing tank from Target this past weekend.  It's very comfortable.  I'd like a bit more support but I typically don't like any normal bras and live in sports bras when I'm not pregnant.

  • I am a larger size and plan to purchase my nursing bras from Linda the Bra Lady (if you google that name, the web site should pop up). I can't speak for how comfy the nursing bras are yet, but this site provides options for larger sizes which can be hard to find.

I'm 36 F and live in Jessica Simpson brand bras. The soft ones with no under wire. They are beyond comfortable and awesome. My favorite is the black one with the ugly butterfly pattern.

Edit: I buy them in the largest size.

  • If you have a Nordstrom near you, their fitters are amazing. I like the Elomi brand.

No particular brand advice as I have the opposite issue BUT I would suggest waiting until your milk comes in and your supply regulates before investing in bras - your cup size likely will change again.
  • Thanks Ladies!   I found a few retailers near me that carry the Bravado bras- I think I'll take a trip over and try one on...Worth a shot!!   I know just a Nursing tank alone will not be enough support for me!!    thanks for all the help - and by all means, keep the suggestions coming!
  • I'm currently at 36H or I.  I started out pp (like, before DD#1) at a nice C cup.  Anyhow - my best piece of advice - go to a specialty bra shop, find a bra that you absolutely love and get it converted to a nursing bra. It's well worth the $.  Not cheap, I just go this sports bra:

From the shop I bought it from and with the alterations to make it into a nursing bra, I paid $110.  But it is soooooooooo comfy and is quite supportive w/o the underwire digging in!
