Diflucan and breastfeeding?

I am pretty sure I have developed a yeast infection after giving birth. My ob said I could try a dose of diflucan which she said is "generally considered safe while breastfeeding". Has anyone else used that while breastfeeding? We are doing so well breastfeeding that I don't want anything to interrupt our progress. She said due to my recovery from tears that she does not recommend over the counter creams. Thanks!

My OB prescribes it to breast feeding mothers if the creams don't work or for some reason aren't appropriate. She prefers not to, because it's such a strong medication and can be a little harsh on the liver, but it's not out of the question. OBs have to keep up with breast feeding guidelines, and most won't prescribe something dangerous to the baby or detrimental to your feeding.

My OB would not prescribe diflucan with my post delivery yeast infection. He said it's not the best to use when breastfeeding. I was prescribed something else.
