I know it's fairly new, but does anyone own one?  If so, what are your thoughts?

Re: Bugaboo Buffalo

  • I have the Cameleon3 and love it. No experience with the Buffalo, but the C3 has been fantastic. Peg Perego just redid their carseats and they're 8.5lbs, so I would go with a Bugaboo and the Peg in a heartbeat now.

Not even half my rent... :(
  • Yeah, MI has super low cost of living.

  • I have my cameleon and a BOB. The BOB stays up and in the house for walking in the 'hood and the cameleon stays in the car for use when we're out. They both have their uses and they wouldn't be great at doing the others job, though obviously you could use them for both.

I have too many ducking strollers. Double BOB, double sit n stand (waste of money IMO), single jogger, single umbrella, and I'm thinking about getting a double umbrella.
I would totally get a double umbrella if I were you.

My baby trend sit and stand has been great for an inexpensive way to use the infant seat and get around the mall etc. But it sucks balls on walks with hills or dirt trails. I am stalking craigslist like nobody's business trying to find a good deal on a double all-terrain stroller. I just realized the few I was looking at have a 38 in height max and DS is already 37.5 inches. Welp back to the drawing board. The one I raalllly want is $450-500 used (baby jogger summit x3) but I just can't. waaaaah

I just bought a bob duallie from CL for $350. Is that an option?
I was googling "best joggers for tall toddlers" and there were a lot of complaints that the head room of bobs were too short for really tall kids. I want this to last 2-3 years so I don't know

This is why we bought the sit and stand. DS is not yet three, but is 45 pounds and 40 inches tall. He's too big for every double stroller we looked at.

Wow, I was not expecting so many responses!

@KateMW - I didn't know there's a lighter Peg; that opens the Stokke back up to me! woo!

@loolaide - I think you mean the bugaboo bee? We had planned on getting that one also when (hopefully future) LO is big enough for that style.  I've never seen the Origami before - it looks awesome!  I may have to read about it a bit more....  Since i'm due in late October I don't foresee too much walking when LO is tiny if next winter is anything like last.

@hckygrl909 - The bugaboo buffalo is not even a third of my rent!

Despite being a runner I haven't even considered a jogging stroller!  So much to think about!!

  • We have 4 strollers & they don't even add up to $500. Target is my BFF.

    And Craigslist!

  • Honestly to pay over a grand for a stroller, that you may not like IRL seems sort of ridiculous. But hey it's your $$...

But you may not like everything or anything IRL. I don't understand your point. If you don't like something no matter what you spent it was a waste of money...
  • I second thinking on what you will use it for and when! We originally just had the travel system which is great for the store and mall...and is nice and small for the car. Once the weather warmed up, I bought a used jogging stroller and it is so much better for everything! Dog walks, park and working out! You have time with a winter babu though as it will be cold. Just wish I had thought it out more beforehand! ;)

Actually not so Kate. If I buy something for my kids or myself and they don't use it or we don't feel it's a right fit for our family it gets sold. And if you'll notice I did say, "your money so..". It's an opinion, you of all people, should know that everyone is entitled. You don't have to like it or understand it.

Whoa, back the bitch truck up...what's up with the attitude? Where did VC, myself or anything in this thread say their shit wasn't getting used? Why would you think things weren't getting used?

Actually I didn't say that you weren't using anything. I was giving an example. Seems like you need to take a ride on the bitch truck that's going in reverse. Settle yourself. Her money, her business. My opinion should not be getting you this worked up.

  • I have the Baby Jogger City Select which I'm using as a double. I love it, and will also love the single seat conversion when dd grows out of it in a few years.

Whatever, seems like somebody peed in your cheerios today and you decided to spread your sunshine here. You and Boots give similar super helpful advice.
  • We have a cheap consignment double and a nice baby jogger city mini, which my H uses if he goes out with just one kid. Whatever one you decide on I would say ease of folding/storing and versatility is key.

Okay Kate. Make a nice comparison between two completely different situations. Thanks for your completely enlightening comparison.

  • Suck it, Mav. ;) We're both being pissy, truce?
  • If I hate the stroller (whichever stroller) DH will inevitably sell it on ebay.  There would still be a net loss, but it's not going to keep us up at night.

VC "the city" brand is really great. If we lived in a city and were going to be walking a ton we'd have gotten a double. Folds up nicely. Our oldest hated the stroller until we could put her in an umbrella, we have a Maclaren (sp) umbrella.

  • Am I the only one who thought this thread was going to be about the talking buffalo at bugaboo creek? :-??
Yes and now I think you're a little crazy bc I have no idea what you're talking about.
  • I will say one of the best things about my Bugaboo is that I bought it on a super sale, saved about $250 and they're sold on our local FB page and CL for around $400-500 after a couple of years...so I basically will have spent about $300 on a stroller.

We have the City Mini single (awesome if only for the single hand fold), a Graco Snap n Go (which I use exclusively when I'm alone with LO at this point b/c it is super convenient) and a Maclaren Twin Techno to use with both kids, which we LOVE. My neighbor has a Bugaboo, though an older model, and we did a stroller swap for a week a while back (long story). I found the Bugaboo to be pretty heavy and cumbersome in comparison to our City Mini, but I'm sure the newer models are much lighter.
