1. Where are you in your family's birth order? How many siblings? Thoughts on that?
Oldest and Only. I was an only child until I was 10 and then the oldest by far of 2 younger siblings who are 10 and 12 years younger. My little sibs have NEVER questioned my authority on something, which is a nice aspect of being so much older. I also have been like a Jr. Parent to them both a few times over the years - though lately my sister is becoming more like my buddy and partner-in-crime. I still have a pretty strong mentoring relationship with them both though.
The only child part of me is largely where my introversion shows. I was a quiet, well-behaved child and often was content to play alone or read books. I am still often perfectly content to be alone, read, or just hang out with the dog. H. and I were just talking the other day about how sometimes, I don't prioritize seeing my friends, because my social needs are often met just by hanging out with her and going to work and seeing people. This isn't the best for my social relationships, but I tend to get overwhelmed and drained being around alot of people all the time. This is a key difference between H. and I as she's also an oldest, but her brothers are so close to her in age that she is more extroverted.
2. If you could click your heels and magically go anywhere for the weekend, where would you go? (assume money/time are no matter)
Ha! Most days I would say Hawaii, but honestly, I'm so tired this week that I can't imagine trying to get around there and sight-see. Today I might actually just choose an all-inclusive where I don't have to walk very far and can just read my book, chill in the pool or at the beach, eat lots, and nap in the afternoons in a hammock!
3. If you had to make a meal from what you have in your house right now, what's the best you could come up with?
Oh - thank goodness H went shopping yesterday! I would probably make chicken fajitas with bell peppers and onions, and on the side I'd eat a whole pineapple
4. What would you say are your top 1-3 hobbies?
Mmm.... Reading, Musical things (which I rarely do, but I enjoy alot), and Puttering around the house.
5. What's up this weekend?
It's a long weekend here in Canada! Tonight H. is babysitting and I'm TIRED so I'm going to lay low with my dog-friend tonight on the couch. Tomorrow we are going to try to go buy some clothes for H. for her new job, and then we have a celebratory dinner for one of H's friends in the evening. On Sunday we're going to drive to Buffalo with a friend to do a bit of Shopping, and on Monday I've convinced H. we should have an "internet free day!" - where I hope that we will take the dog out, do some house things, play some games, and just enjoy each other's company without distractions.

We lost our beautiful Twin baby girls on June 18, 2014. Tavin Sara and Casey Elizabeth were born at 21 weeks gestation and were absolutely beautiful, precious, amazing babies. We miss our daughters every day and love them with all our hearts.
2. Hawaii. I assume my magic wand would cut out the travel time, so we'd happily spend our 3 day weekend there. (long weekend in Canada this weekend).
3. Bean burritos (with moosewood cookbook refried beans) or veggie and tofu stir fry. @Manada has reached that point of pregnancy where meat turns her off.
4. Playing baseball, listening to audio books while driving, hiking/forest walking with the dog.
5. We have a lot on our to do list including taxes so I think we'll try to do something responsible and grown up on Saturday like that. Sunday we're going to Buffalo to go shopping; I'm specifically looking for summer clothes that I can wear to an office job; and Monday is a holiday and we're going internet free-- turning off the wifi in our house, turning off the data on our phones, etc. I'm not sure what we'll do. This was M's idea. I'm hoping we'll play a game. We'll probably also do some baby room work.
PIP: me and my brothers. S in the back is the youngest.
We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.
Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.
Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response
IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255
1st ultrasound (3/6 6w 1d): TWINS!!!! Twin A measuring 6w1d with a heartbeat of 118bpm. Twin B measuring 6w0d with a heartbeat of 113bpm.
***July 18, 2014 we lost our beautiful babies at 21 weeks gestation. They were born too early. Tavin Sara T. and Casey Elizabeth T. are beautiful and precious and we will love them and miss them forever.***
FET #1 December 2014
1. Where are you in your family's birth order? How many siblings? Thoughts on that?
I'm the middle of 3 girls. My older sister is almost 2 years older than me and my younger is 3 1/2 years younger. I'm a pretty classic middle child although definitely have some first child characteristics because my older sister wasn't much of an older sibling for a while.
2. If you could click your heels and magically go anywhere for the weekend, where would you go? (assume money/time are no matter)
A beach, with not very many people. Fiji or New Zealand maybe, one of those is next on our travel list
3. If you had to make a meal from what you have in your house right now, what's the best you could come up with?
Haha this is funny because we tried to figure it out last night and decided not much and got a burger, fries and root beer floats for dinner. We could make some breakfast, waffles, pancakes and we have loads of eggs.
4. What would you say are your top 1-3 hobbies?
camping/hiking, painting, playing the drums (haven't done this one forever)
5. What's up this weekend?
I think we are going up to my dads tonight to help he and my sister get things ready for the wake on Sunday. Tomorrow I'm working on the mural, probably helping my dad and sister again and then going to a Real soccer game in the evening. Sunday is the wake for my stepmom so we'll just do that and probably won't be up for much else later.
1. I'm the eldest, I have a brother who is 3 years younger. I think I definitely have some of the older child characteristics.
2. I have two answers ;-). Without kids it would've the Maldives (I haven't been but would love to go). With kids I think maybe San Diego. Its nice and warm, but not too hot (since Owens so young) and easy to navigate.
3. Falafels & hummus, and chocolate chip cookies.
4. Traveling, snorkeling (scuba diving), reading (not in that order). If reading doesn't count I'd add painting/crafts.
5. Going wedding dress shopping with a friend. Hanging out around the house. Enjoying the temperature drop back into the 70's & 80's. Maybe the drive-in movies tonight or tomorrow night.
2. A beachy and beautiful oasis- Seychelles? Tahiti?
3. We scraped together random items last night and ended up with egg sandwiches and cut up veggies and humus. Now I have a block of hallumi cheese in the fridge and some more veggies so probably grilled hallumi and veggie kebabs.
4. Does being a dog mom count? I spend a lot of time with the dogs, taking them to the beach, playing with them, etc. Otherwise, occasionally painting and seriously- reading should count.
5. Our baby shower is Sunday!
A & K, married 7/1/13.
After 10 months of ttc via medicated IUIs and two early losses, we finally got our boys- Perfect premie twins born 5/27/14.
2. If you could click your heels and magically go anywhere for the weekend, where would you go? (assume money/time are no matter)
4. What would you say are your top 1-3 hobbies?
5. What's up this weekend?
2. Well I wouldn't go far at this point. If I wasn't 9 months pregnant I would go to Paris! At this point I think I would opt to not go anywhere though. I want my own bed, and our dog and the comforts of home... And to be within 20 mins of our hospital!
3. We don't have much. I am supposed to go grocery shopping tomorrow. I could make spinach ravioli from what I have in the freezer... That's about it at this point. It's pretty sad HAHA!
4. Reading, shopping, spending time with our doggie who I love an insane amount!
5. Tonight I am plopping on the couch with our dog and not moving til bed time -- my wife is going out to dinner with her grad school friends. Tomorrow I have to go to the DMV in the morning, then grocery store. My wife is supposed to finally finish the nursery! Sunday is "date day," and we are getting haircuts, pedicures, going out for lunch and just spending a relaxing day together. We don't know when will be our last weekend before baby, so we wanted to squeeze in an "us day" just in case
Me - 30, My wife - 31 , Together for 10 yrs - Married August 2012
5 medicated IUIs w/ RE (March - July 2013) = BFN
Fresh IVF Cycle in September 2013 resulted in 18 mature eggs, 16 fertilized, 12 made it to day 5. Transfer of 2 Grade A blastocysts on 9/15/13, and 10 embryos in the freezer! *****BFP on 9/25/13 - betas: @10dp5dt = 232; @12dp5dt = 465; @15dp5dt = 1,581 *********William George born June 4, 2014*********2. Well, since it's only the weekend, I wouldn't pick anywhere too fun or I wouldn't want to come back in a couple of days.
3. I have a roast chicken and a few steaks in the freezer, so if I'm allowed defrosting time, then I could have either of those with sweet potatoes. We haven't been shopping since Sunday though and don't have any green vegetables around.
4. Cooking, gardening, and reading.
5. Tomorrow: Haircuts, grocery shopping, a little cleaning, and we're having my family over to celebrate my birthday -- which is next Saturday but someone was going to be away for Memorial Day weekend. Sunday: Yoga, bringing food to a friend who has a week-old baby, and meeting up with another friend who wants to give me some hand-me-down baby gear.

*Everyone welcome*
I'm the oldest of four - all girls - and very much an oldest. Until I went to therapy, I called my youngest two sisters "the little girls" even as adults - I did a lot of (somewhat inappropriate) raising of them, but I loved it in a way too.
2. If you could click your heels and magically go anywhere for the weekend, where would you go? (assume money/time are no matter)
Oh, this weekend...I think I'd go to Tokyo or Paris! I'd love a metropolitan foreign country visit without the plane ride requirement!
3. If you had to make a meal from what you have in your house right now, what's the best you could come up with?
Aside from my remaining plated.com dinner, I can always drum up a mean omelet - with asparagus, cheese and potatoes on the side!
4. What would you say are your top 1-3 hobbies?
I'd say they are taking photos, writing, and puttering online. I seem lately to only do the third one tho.
5. What's up this weekend?
Ok, really REALLY the chickens are going. Yoga. Clearing out the nursery (J finally got the big stuff moved out today!) and picking up the paint. Walks. Dinner with some friends. And, probably a bit of house purging and organizing...I've definitely been feeling like nesting!
Me (43) and J (45) - same sex couple. And we don't feel 40+!

@Jazibel - Congrats!
1. This is always a complicated question for me...or at least I make it complicated. My Dad has a son from his first marriage. He is 12 years older than me. We have never had a great relationship, not that I didn't try very hard. At this time, we do not speak, and that has been my choice based on a few things that happened about two years ago. A lot of my previous years in counseling centered around my relationship, or lack thereof, with him. So, technically I have an older brother. I consider myself and only child though and prefer it that way. My Mom told me that for the first time ever, he called to wish her a happy Mother's Day on Sunday. I told her he needed to stop infringing on my territory. I am a true only child in some respects, I admit that. He lives in Missouri and we live in NY so at least there is a lot of physical distance between us.
2. I would go back to Florida to spend time with our friends there.
3. Chicken cordon bleu with roasted cauliflower. Other than that, it would be pretty pathetic.
4. Geocaching, riding the motorcycle with C and spending time with our dogs.
5. Tomorrow C has to work for a few hours. Beyond that, riding the motorcycle if it doesn't rain.

2) cutie dog from across the street from her moms.
I am an only. I swore growing up, I'd never have just one - too much pressure, focus, and attention. Plus, I feel you gain a lot from sibling relationships. However, I don't really fit the stereotype of an only child.
2. If you could click your heels and magically go anywhere for the weekend, where would you go? (assume money/time are no matter) Right now? One of those over the water bungalows with my wife - sans kids. Books, drinks, and naps sound devine right now.
3. If you had to make a meal from what you have in your house right now, what's the best you could come up with? Grilled chicken breasts with asparagus (and pasta for the kids!) With watermelon (for me - since I am the only person in my house who will eat it) and leftover rice crispy treats from the kids' party.
4. What would you say are your top 1-3 hobbies? I don't really have hobbies, per se. I like to read (moreso magazines than books, but have been reading a fair amount of books recently), volunteering, and surfing the internet (I should be a proprofessional Googler!)
5. What's up this weekend? We have celebrated the kids' 8th birthday all weekend - cupcakes at school Friday, party at our house yesterday, friend spending the night tonight and dinner with friends tonight. We are beat.
2. If you could click your heels and magically go anywhere for the weekend, where would you go? (assume money/time are no matter) I think Austrailia or maybe Hawaii
3. If you had to make a meal from what you have in your house right now, what's the best you could come up with? I could make some mac n cheese, grilled chicken, and green beans.
4. What would you say are your top 1-3 hobbies? I would say: Softball, reading, and napping
5. What's up this weekend? Well, the weekend already passed but we spent it house-sitting at my mother in laws (enjoying her pool!) and then had dinner with my mom, dad, and niece Sunday night
