We haven't had anything bad from Trader Joe's! If they have it (it comes and goes) they have pre-packaged marinated carne asada strip steak that we love. It freezes well. Their fresh pizza dough also freezes well.
They have lots of nuts at good prices. Honey wheat pretzels. Frozen burritos. Frozen tikka masala. Frozen meats and seafood. Cookie Butter!!! If you get nothing else, you need to try cookie butter!
The only thing we sort of stay away from at TJs is their breads. They have a tendency to mold quickly (less preservatives or something??). But we just don't go through bread fast enough.
butternut squash risotto (frozen in a bag) is amazing! almond toffee squares sunflower seeds & sunbutter sushi (lately just the california rolls obv) blackberries (bigger package for less than regular grocery store - same with a lot of their produce if you can bring it home in a cooler with you)
I know it's not good but their green tea bar soap is fabulous, as is their lavender hand lotion. They have Tahitian caramels near the checkout. My fav. Stock up on their cheap wine. It's actually pretty good but makes for a lovely 3rd-4th bottle at your get-togethers. Not for baby
We do 95% of our shopping at TJ's. Some frozen favorites: pie crust (use to make quiche), latkes (serve alongside the quiche), turkey meatballs, margherita pizza, halibut nuggets (the breading on these is reminiscent of that on fish tacos, so we sometimes throw them on tortillas with broccoli slaw and an avocado cream sauce), veggies melange, tator tots, burritos, chicken fried rice, mini tacos, mac and cheese. TJ's regular old pasta and sauce tastes so much better and is great for a quick meal, too. We also do easy dinners from the meat section like pre-marinated pork loin or chicken breast, grilled chicken sausages or all-beef hot dogs, etc. And their pre-made pizza crust is the best.
eta: I personally still prefer Nutella to cookie butter, but clearly I'm in the minority.
Frozen meatballs Personal pepperoni pizzas (these are my faaaaave!) They have a chicken wrap that comes with a pesto vinigrette dressing that rocks my world. (I take my client grocery shopping there every Tuesday and I would be lying if I said I didn't get this often...)
