Going back to work today

I know there are a couple of us returning back to work today so I just wanted to say good luck!!

I just dropped LO off at daycare and cried the whole way to work, I hope my employees go easy on me today.

    Good luck!!
  • I'm back today too. I was so focused on getting things ready that it didn't hit me until last night. I'm gonna miss my little guy!!!

GL to all the mamas! We can do it. Xo
I hope to create a real siggy but first I need some sleep!

    Mom to Lily and Colin!
  • ((Hugs)) to all. It does get easier but its never easy. I got a little teary eyed this morning and I have been back since mid March. Monday are the worst!

  • I'm back to work today too. I cried off and on yesterday. Still at home right now (west coast) and getting in some baby snuggles and trying to keep it together. Man this is hard. :( good luck ladies
  • I'm back today also.  I was totally fine with it until DC called me a few minutes ago and said DD is refusing her bottle.  It's been about 7 hours since she last ate.  :(

    Now I'm a mess...

  • :( Good luck!! I PROMISE it eventually gets easier.  But like PP said, Monday are always the hardest.

  • I'm right there with you.  My parents are watching her so that makes it easier but it still sucks.  I'm sure we miss them way more than they miss us!
  • I cried all the way to work this morning but now that I'm at work and its lunch time it's not so bad. The day is going by quickly and I'm pretty busy. Hope you other mamas are doing ok.
  • Good luck ladies!

I've BTDT and it does get easier.  I focus on the positives: warm lunch, adult conversation, pride in work, etc. and remember that LO is happy with caregivers.

@C12H22O11‌ - My LO won't take a bottle either. Neither did DD1. Just have then keep trying. LO will eventually take a sip or two when she gets hungry enough to tide her over until I get home. Then she usually eats more at night. It will get better with time.

Hallelujah, DD finally took the bottle! (after much protest - she got passed around like a hot potato to see if anyone had "the touch")

  • Just came back after my 10 hr shift, was able to make it through the day without crying. Everyone I worked with was so happy to see me so that made me feel better.

  • Today was pretty good. I was sooo busy and had fun catching up with coworkers. My MIL was good about updating the baby app so I could see when LO was asleep, how much he ate etc.

The only bad thing was mil used bottles out of order and I had to toss 5 oz of milk tonight. That's easy to correct for the future tho.

Tomorrow will be harder since I won't have the whole weekend to get stuff ready and packed up.

I really think working makes me a better mom. I don't yet, but I'll feel more balanced. Plus I get to help people through my work and that is fulfilling.
I hope to create a real siggy but first I need some sleep!

  • Glad to hear first days went well! They do get easier. This from the girl who sat in the middle of my empty classroom during my plan and soaked up the quiet. It was lovely and helped me be more patient with LO when I got home.
