I'm sure this has been asked before, but I'm mobile with a swirmy baby in my lap, so please take pity on me and indulge me this one time.
When LO starts to sleep through the night and you wake up engorged - do you pump or not? I want my supply to adjust to match this new lovely pattern. Will pumping prevent this adjustment? I am uncomfortable and if possible waiting for a response (hopefully someone else knows and is awake to read this/respond) and mr. Google is being an asshole, I already asked him. Thanks in advance!
Re: Morning engorgement - please help
OP- Sorry, I don't mean to hijack your post! Hopefully the answers can help you too!
I always just wait it out. They will adjust. And, @Jmd527, when my son started to STTN I did get a few blocked ducts. I was always able to unblock them with warm compresses and nursing, but it does suck.
I always avoid pumping whenever possible.

@Jmd527 I had trouble with clogged ducts and mastitis a few months ago, 5 hours should be fine as long as you pump or feed your LO at the end. Like PP said warm compresses and some massage should provide relief! Good luck! Oh and I've been at this for 6 months and can't hand express either, I just do a minute on my pump for that.

@theresat858 I agree with the first comment but not the second. If you pump in the MOTN I agree you won't adjust until you drop that pump. But in the morning it seems to not be affecting the adjustment. You were right about 5 days- thanks!!!
