I thought that, since all the birthdays are coming up (or have already passed), we should all post our LO's name (if you want), birthday, EDD, time of birth, weight, length, and any other sweet memories you have of their first day in this world. I feel like we have a pretty close knit group here now, so it will be nice to reminisce.
I'll start:
Eleanor was born June 18th at 6:24 p.m.
EDD: June 13th
weight: 8 lbs, 15 oz
length: 21.5 in
I remember as soon as they pulled her out, my husband and sister started sobbing (loudly). DH just collapsed on the bed holding my hand and crying. So dramatic yet so sweet. My first words to her were "you're beautiful!"
Re: GTKY: Turn back the clocks
EDD was June 28th
Weight: 6 lbs 12 oz
Length: 19 in
I had a pretty fast labor and delivery so not a whole lot happened. My sister ended up staying in the room and watched the whole thing. It was my SO, mom, and sister. My SO knew the nurse who helped with the delivery. That was kind of awkward lol my sister is scarred from what she saw in there and so is my SO. They both remember the sound that was made when the doctor cut me haha. I didn't cry or anything but I was over joyed with how much love I already had for my baby. I also had a waiting room full of family waiting for Grayson to make his appearance. There was a lot of love at the hospital that day. Oh and I also got to watch the whole thing because the way the room was set up I could see my reflection in the window lol
Birthday: tomorrow! May 18th

I was petrified when my water broke. From my NICU experience, I knew 35 weekers didn't always do well. I was preparing for the worst. That part was emotional for me. I'm so lucky she did so well.
DH and I picked out her name a mere few hours before she was born. We were team green and didn't have a boys name. Thankfully she was a girl
I was amazed how quickly I progressed after the epidural. 3 to 10 cm in an hour. The nurses had me do a test push. Their eyes got big and they told me to not move, close my legs, and don't push while they went and called the dr in. The look on DH's face was priceless. He was so scared she was going to "fall out" when no one but us were in the room. I was scared to even move! The doc came and 2 pushes later, viola!
EDD: June 26th
Weight: 7lbs 15oz
Length: 21.5 inches
I started crying as soon as I heard B cry. When I was able to see him, the first thing I said to my husband was "he has your hairline!" (A widow's peak)
Born: June 25th
Time: 3:49am
EDD: June 17th
Weight: 6 lbs 2.5 oz
Length: 19 in
I remember that she came out really quickly. They told me I would probably be pushing for a couple hours but she actually came out in just three pushes. I couldn't believe how small she was since she went past her due date. And then once they put her on my chest, she pooped all over me
BFP #2: due 6/30/2017, MMC found 12/7/2016
BFP #3: due 10/21/2018
EDD: June 4th
Born June 9th 12:30pm
7lbs 8oz and 20.5 inches
I remember the cord not being too long and so she was on my belly, which of course made me cry that I couldn't really hold her yet. But everyone was excited about her long hair.

Labor was different than I expected. I was determined to go med free but thought I'd be moving around. Instead, all I wanted to do was lay still and imagine I was on an ocean. I could go on forever about the labor experience.
But I remember after she was born and I had to push over an hour being physically wiped but on some sort of high. I held her soon but her slow delivery made her a little blue and they had to take her away for a bit. During this time I was deliriously talking to the dr. She kept saying she couldn't believe that I had just done that so calmly (no screaming at all) and I felt so proud. I asked her to see my placenta and she showed it to me.
Once I got to the recovery room N was still in the nursery and everyone else was there except my mom, who stayed with me. I think that's when it hit me first what it's like to love a daughter - you care more about her well being than hovering over the cute grand baby with everyone else.
Then someone ordered pizza and I chowed down.
This makes me think I should go write all this stuff down!
EDD: June 9
Arrived: June 21

As soon as I pushed her out (after 2 hours of pushing) she pooped and the doctor didn't notice and wiped it all over her! They spent a few mins trying to wipe it off. Meanwhile I am craning my neck and trying to look but I just couldn't see her. Fiiiinally they plopped her down on my chest and she peed on me lol. I started losing a lot of blood after that and everything else is a bit fuzzy. No one was allowed in the room for 3 hours while they worked on me. She was on my chest that whole time though and I was oblivious to how serious things were. But I remember when we were finally allowed visitors around 10 pm I did not let anyone take her from me
Birthday - June 16 (Father's Day!)
EDD - June 8
Weight - 9 lbs
Height - 21.25"
I remember feeling like I didn't have any energy to push once I reached 10cm and I knew what was coming since I pushed for an hour with ds1. I just thought "ok, let's do this" and 8 min later he was out! They put him on my chest and I said "hi". I didn't give him back for over an hour...that's when they finally weighed and measured him.

Alex's birth was really pretty scary. After 2 days on pitocin and 4 hours of pushing, his vitals dropped in the last minutes and he wasn't breathing when he was born. We had a room full of doctors and they were amazing, but in those first few minutes I was bleeding, watching them give him breaths with the CPR thing, and being told he might have to be air lifted to a different hospital. However, they intibated him in the room and before they took him up to the nicu, they wheeled him over and his eyes were open and he looked right at me. I knew he would be okay. Within 10 minutes he was breathing on his own and he recovered completely and is perfect.
I finally got to hold him the next day.

I'm not going to lie his whole birth is somewhat of a blur and that whole day in general is....I just remember screaming like a banshee mainly...But I do remember how peacefully he napped in the cradle and how precious he looked and I remember thinking or saying. .. "I did it. You're finally here with us....I love you Joseph." Oh and I remember my fiance getting all teary eye on me!
Our first family photo together.
EDD: June 9

He came after 19 hours of labor and almost two hours of pushing. I was so exhausted and out of it, I didn't even realize they plopped him on my stomach. I got to hold him after he got cleaned up for a little bit, but then my husband held him while they were sewing me up which took a really long time. I was just amazed that he was actually here and couldn't stop looking at him.

I was to be induced the next day, but he had plans of his own, thank goodness! I remember feeling a lot of pressure with an epi that I didn't realize would happen. I kept telling the nurses I needed to push and they wouldn't believe me. When they finally checked me again, they saw I was serious! They called for the doctor and after 20 min of pushing, he was here! I don't remember the first thing I said but DH said he had my ears!

Labor was so much different with him that with my girls. It was just over 9 hours from start to finish which was super fast for me. I remember one of the nurses asking how big my biggest was, I told her DD1 was 7lbs 10oz. She goes, "Oh this one will be your biggest now" as he was coming out. Lol..It was a totally different feeling KNOWING he is my last. I just remember them giving him to me and both my H and I couldn't stop smiling. I couldn't wait for the girls to meet him!

I remember having my hubby on Skype as our lil man was born, we both were in tears instantly and I couldn't stop saying "OMG he's such a peanut." My mom and a good friend were also in the room and there wasn't a dry eye.
Also will never forget when my dr walked into my room when it was time to deliver (she was coming from the office next door) she walked in wearing her high heels, lab coat, pearl necklace and carrying her red leather doctors bag. Made my day that she showed up in such style

Lily was an emergency c-section because I was sick and became preeclamptic. I was unconscious during the birth and H wasn't allowed to come. I was really scared, but I had an awesome nurse who held my hand the entire time.
When I got to my room finally, H wanted them to bring Lily in because they had told him that she was doing okay. He got the number to the NICU and was calling them asking where our baby was. They finally brought her in and I got to see her for the first time around 11pm (4 hours or so after she was born). I remember the time so clearly.
This picture is how I saw Lily when I came out of anathesia. H took it as the were wheeling her past to go to the NICU.

Had an emergency csection. Doctors didn't realize he had stopped growing until about 2pm on his due date. He hadn't grown in about 5 weeks, so it was a serious situation. First thoughts, he sounded tiny from the little cry I heard, couldn't see anything.
Beckett Paul was born June 7th
EDD May 28th
8 lbs 13 oz and 21 inches
I was so worried I would drop him in the OR because the spinal block and raw emotion made me so shaky. I couldn't believe he had my red hair and huge head.
Beckett had his first bath with most of our family in the room. He closed his eyes and it seemed like he loved it. He was so beautiful and perfect.

Scheduled c-section after making no progress in hopes of a vbac. Birth experience was amazing. My doc had Whitney Houston radio on Pandora and Tyler came out to me, the doc, and all the nurses singing to "Always be my baby" by Mariah Carey (the next song was "so emotional" by Whitney). I remember looking at him, across the room, thinking "I love him so much". And the rest is history

My water broke in the middle of the night and I thought I peed my pants. When we got to the hospital they found that my blood pressure was crazy high, like 188/112, and I was started on mag. The mag was horrible and I would never want to experience it again! But, after 16 hours of labor and an hour of pushing Tucker made his grand entrance left arm first

I went into labor on June 18th in the late morning, but started having timeable contractions that afternoon. Got to the hospital around midnight, and was 3 cm dilated.
They gave me the epidural around 4am, and then broke my water around 7am on June 19th. Took a long time to get to 10cm. Sometime that afternoon (have no idea about timing) they told me to start pushing. I gave it my all for 2.5 hours and nothing happened. Like at all. Even with adding pitot in, lowering the epidural etc. They told me that the baby was fine but was making no progress whatsoever. They were very concerned that they could use a vacuum to get her head out but that the she would end up with a shoulder injury due to being too big for me.
We all decided to do a c section. At that point I was exhausted and honestly didn't care what they needed to do. I had been in labor for over 24 hours at that point!
The c section made me feel awful- shaky and puking. When they pulled her out and I heard her cry I could barely process any of it. I have never felt so sick in my life. My husband went to where they cleaned her and weighed her and brought her so I could turn my head and see her. I got a few tears in my eyes, but again still felt so off and out of it that I really didn't enjoy the moment like I was desperate to.
When they wheeled me to OR recovery I was able to hold her and it was so odd and surreal like it wasn't really happening! I think when my numbness and shakiness started to wear off and I felt better it all started to be so much more real and I could enjoy it!
It some ways I can remember every single moment, and it other ways its all a blur. I wish I got the "plop a baby on your chest" moment instead of "glancing at your baby while puking" moment that I got, but how she was born isn't as important when I have had 11 months of amazing memories!
Giana
Born: June 25th, 8:15pm
EDD: June 23rd
She was 9lbs 9oz and 21 inches.
At 33 weeks, I went into early, dehydration induced labour but after giving me some medication to slow labour down and lots of fluids, the doctors got to her stay in. I was put on bedrest and told that I probably wouldn't make it to 36 weeks.
Giana had other ideas and came two days overdue. My labour was only 4 hours and the first thing I remember saying to her was "Oh hi!" and then she peed on me.
EDD June 27
Weight 8 lb 2 oz

I pushed for 5 hr total because my contractions went caput at 10 cm and LO wouldn't descend. LO eventually came out with the vacuum. As LO was on my belly one of my nurses said he wasn't crying and was stunned from the many hours of pushing. LO was rushed into the baby room adjacent to mine as the nurse yelled "I need peds now!" Scariest minutes of my life! When we finally got to do skin to skin, LO peed on me through his diaper. He cried and whimpered the entire time until he was swaddled and held by DH.
Our friend, who is an OB in the practice I go to, had to deliver LO since I needed the vacuum (the midwife wasn't able to use it). I was a bit embarrassed to have him straight cath me, deliver my child and stitch me back up. Then to top it off, the office said I HAD to see him for my 6 week follow up. I'm not going to lie, it's awkward now when I see him. I'm glad that he was there for such a momentous event in our lives, but I wish I could've had any of the other 6 docs from the practice.

I was induced a little more than 24 hours after my water broke because my contractions never got closer than 10 minutes apart on their own. Most of my memories of the hospital are not the fondest, but getting to hold and nurse my little girl right after she was born was thoroughly amazing and wonderful. I also remember that there was a photographer at the hospital that took newborn photos and then put them in a little slideshow with cheesy music in an effort to convince us to buy them. She warned my husband and me that people usually cry when they watch it. We, on the other hand, couldn't stop giggling at the grumpy little smashed pirate faces she was making in most of the photos. I think the photographer thought we were a little weird when my husband picked out the one he wanted to get "because she looks the most like an old man in that one." She's adorable and we love her, I swear, but those photos were not so flattering.

We had to go get induced on July 1st since they wouldn't induce on the 4th holiday and the next open date was July 10 which I was not willing to do. So July 1st, which is also my hubby's bday, I woke up and walked/jogged 2 miles and then I later took my hubby to bday lunch and then we went to the hospital to meet the new love of our life. It was quite the experience and I had no baby fever until reading everyone's posts!

At my 39 week appointment, my BP was still running higher, so the doctor scheduled an induction for the next morning. She stripped the membranes during the appointment to try to jump start labor - which it did. My water broke within an hour of getting home. One of the calls we made on the way to the hospital was to my husband's best friend and he didn't believe that I was actually in labor, he thought we were joking.
We had the best nurse in delivery and she was our nurse in postpartum the next night also. She let things progress on their own. We didn't find out what we were having and she was playing with Evelyn's hair as she was crowning and jokingly said that it was probably a boy because there was so much hair.
My husband was going to make the call whether it was a boy or girl, but I saw before he said anything. She sucked her thumb almost immediately - one of the first pictures I took of her is a close up with her sucking her thumb. It's the one I sent out to my friends, family and coworkers to announce her birth.
