Was the second csection easier for anyone else?

I am 5ish weeks out from my second c and it is way easier I just got done staining my entire deck by myself and I built a shed for our mower last night. With my first I could barely get out of bed until almost 8 weeks. I even got a tubal this time I am real shocked by how functional I am.

Most of my IRL friends who've had c-sections say the same thing, that the 2nd is way easier. But then a few have also said the 3rd is the hardest.

My 2nd is scheduled for Thurs and I'm praying my recovery goes well. My first was a breeze.

  • That's good to know. That is one thing that I am really scared of, is what is it going to be like recovering with a toddler. I had an easy recovery last time.

I agree, second time around was much easier.

  • My second was a week ago and it has been so much easier! I attribute it to not laboring before like I did with my first.

Yes, second was much easier. I just had my third a little over two weeks ago and it has been the easiest of all.

Same here. Recovery has been easier with my second c-section. I'm still in a bit of pain 3 weeks post op, but the pain is manageable to the point where I haven't taken pain meds in about 4 days.
  • For me I think #2 has been harder. I really thought my first c section was really no big deal. And I don't know if it's where I'm trying to keep up with a 2 1/2 yr old where last time I seriously sat around the whole time. Who knows but I'll be 2 weeks out this Wednesday and I'm still taking my Motrin as often as I can and holding my belly. I even had bleeding at my incision after being home this time where last time nothing. I could just be becoming a wimp in my old age..... Lol (27)
  • I had 2 scheduled csections, never went into labor. I think recovery is about the same. I am taking a little more pain meds this time around but I'm also a lot more active given that I have an 18m old to chase around instead of just sitting in the couch holding the baby all day long.

  • I am recovering from c-section #4, and it is by far the easiest! When I talked to my doctor about it, he made a good point - I don't have much feeling down there anymore! The muscles have been cut 4 times, so there are some numb areas, but each time the recovery seems to be easier. I had a tubal this time, and even with that, I am feeling really good at 11 days post c-section!!
  • My first was easy to recover from and this one was actually easier. I was worried because I had heard the second was harder.

  • I don't remember either being easy, but I have more scar tissue than most, so maybe that doesn't help. I have my third next week and I hope to fair like most of you and have it be easier than i expect!
