Question about measurement

I had my doctors appointment on fri (I was 38 weeks 3 days) and one of the other doctor's head nurses saw me because my doctor was in a delivery and her head nurse was gone. Anyway she measured me at 37 inches and asked if I had been measuring large the whole time? I didn't think much of it at the time but I'm just confused since I thought you were supposed to measure how many weeks you were? I'm not concerned at all, just confused and looking for some insight!

My midwife says you should measure within 3 cm of the week you are currently in, so it sounds like that nurse may have been confused.

Yeah she must be confused. I thought it was how many weeks you are and that is what my books say.

Last time I went in I measured a few days bigger than what I was. Dr was ok w it.

I thought it was measured in CM? If so, she's really confused.

Definitely think she meant 37 cm and that's totally reasonable for 38 weeks - fundal height isn't super accurate anyway and should just be in the ball park - lots depends on how baby is laying and how you carry.
