Heat affecting milk supply?

Summer has arrived in the UK, for the next couple of days it might even stick around. I got up this morning to do a pump as the other half got up 15 mins before me and was already giving LO a bottle. I managed to pump 10 oz in 10 mins which is pretty much a double pump for me, so it appears the heat has increased my supply. Anyone else have this?

  • I live in Florida, and it's been in the 90s. By that logic, I should be producing enough for quints.

Ummmm no. Struggling to keep up with LO at the moment. Maybe you consumed something that helped increased supply.

The only thing I've eaten out of the ordinary is haggis - if that was responsible I'm going to cry as it was seriously gross and made me gag when trying to eat it :(

Maybe you just drank a lot more water trying to get the gross haggis taste out of your mouth and that led to more milk.

  • If anything I'd be worried that a lot of heat could led to mom getting dehydrated which could potentially reduce milk supply.

Did LO perhaps not nurse as much overnight? Do you normally nurse LO before pumping?
