Who is currently doing this, and which techniques have you been doing?

Who has done this before, and which techniques worked?

I'm hoping to rotate and engage baby before Wednesday to avoid a C-section. Doc thinks he's OP and he's "floating" as they like to call it! Any help or advice would be awesome! TIA!

I haven't personally but I know people who have had luck with the breech tilt. I'd also highly suggest finding a chiro who is certified in the Webster Technique. And I'd check out moxibustion and acupuncture.

Why are they wanting to do a c-section so early? Have they offered a version?

My baby was breech at my 36 week check up so I decided to try Spinning babies instead of an ECV. I did the Breech Tilt, Forward Leaning Inversion, and the knee chest position a couple a times a day or as much as I could stand too. It was a little uncomfortable for me and sometimes and I gave up before the recommended time, so I really thought I was unsuccessful. But I was wrong! Baby flipped and we confirmed by ultrasound at my 37 week appt.!

I've been doing the forward leaning inversion every now and then to try to encourage LO into an OA position before labor. She tends to like lying facing my side, but interestingly, every time I've done the forward leaning inversion (for 30 seconds at a time) I can feel her butt move from the side to the middle of my stomach. She still is moving around all over the place, so she goes back to facing my side, but I figure this is something I can try during labor to get her in a good position for birth.

I'll second what StrawberryDreams219 said. I'm confused as to why they'd be talking C-section for an OP baby. Lots of babies turn to OA during labor, and even if they don't turn lots of women deliver OP babies no problem. Also, lots of babies don't drop until mom goes into labor.

I have not done any of this, have heard of it though. My girl is breech and we are scheduled or C section at 39 weeks. They will not do it before, why is your Dr doing your c section so early?

Ha ha - reading fail for me!! Missed the OP part and thought we were talking breech

I agree that it makes NO sense to c-section for an OP baby. Many babies start labor OP and it's totally possible to deliver that way. I'd seriously side eye any doctor who suggested otherwise.

I used the forward leaning inversion when I found out that baby was breech, and she did flip. But it was early (between 28 and 34 weeks) so there's every chance she would have flipped on her own.

As far as what you're asking, I agree that it's not super clear. But that was my experience.

Sorry! Today was crazy busy and I honestly forgot that I had posted this question this morning! And I'm sorry for leaving out details. Isaiah is currently head down and OP, so I was looking into Spinning Babies because I need him to be OA in order to engage.

My C-section is scheduled because of my ICP diagnosis. Since I have had a previous C-section with DD#1, they will not induce me with meds. He also isn't engaged into my pelvis, so for them to break my water to induce labor would increase my risk of cord prolapse.

So the Spinning Babies techniques are needed to get him to rotate (not flip) and engage into my pelvis. Sorry I wasn't clear on that before.

I am 38 weeks tomorrow, but at my 36 week check my little guy was "floating" as well. He has been head down for the whole pregnancy basically so that was not a concern. Last week he had moved down a bit more and wasn't floating away but he still needs to engage into my pelvic area. So here is what I have been told to do by doctors, midwives, friends etc. Walking, chiropractor as much as possible (which I started right away and has helped a little I think and I have slept the best I have the whole pregnancy), get on your hands and knees and do pelvic tilts as well as rocking back and forth, belly wrap to lift your stomach up and allow the baby to move and use your breast pump (can help start contractions which can help the baby move into place).

I too am worried if he does not drop low enough by 40 weeks that I will need a c-section so I am trying to do all I can to get him down on his own!!! They have been concerned of my guys size for majority of the pregnancy so my doctor feels that if he is still fairly high by 40 weeks his head just might not fit into my pelvic area and then in that case I would more than likely get a c-section. But she is optimistic that he is making slow progress!
