My mom went on google and found some
  • We are having a girl, and we didn't want it to be pink....I mean don't get me wrong I love glitter and ruffles but pink, egh. So we are going with gray, blue, and white with brighter accent colors. We wanted something she can grow into.
  • We're doing dark gray in ours
  • The walls in our nursery are pale blue/gray. The bedding is lavender and light green. I am making the prints for the walls and they are all in the lavender, green, and blue/gray.

  • We're doing grey, yellow, and pink - all in mute tones. I'm not a huge pink person and we wanted it to be something she can grow into. Plus, since a lot of the sheets / changing pads are yellow and grey we will be able to reuse them for any figure kids.

Are you me!? Our walls are grey and one is yellow. All sheets are grey and yellow. But wall decals and decorations will be a darker pink to add some girlish touches without overwheleming!
  • My daughter was the hot pink and turquoise combo in her nursery

  • DD1 shared a bedroom with myself, so even though I wanted a pink nursery, she had a yellow bedroom. I hated it.

    DS didn't get a nursery.

We still don't have a nursery, but I'm redecorating my office to accommodate some baby things, so I'm decorating my office. So DD2's "nursery" is going to be aqua and grey!

Our nursery was already yellow with white flowers abs swirls I painted on one wall a few years back (think giant paisley design) We are keeping that with dark gray carpet, then purple as an accent color in accessories. I didnt want anything too babyish so we can keep the decor as she grows.

  • We are having a girl and went green with monkeys. We are doing pops of lavender. I am not a pink person....but lavender with silver/white/ivories would be cute too!
  • We're doing coral/gray/aqua color scheme with birds! I feel like it's unique! :)

Before we even got the BFP, I painted the nursery two shades of gray. Light gray on top and dark gray on the bottom.  the room is split with a chair rail, so that made the split easier.  I went with gray because it was calming, but I also figured I could add accessories either way to add pops of color when we found out the sex..

... I'm confused. Also, who are you?

I am also confused. You asked for suggestions, received suggestions, then proceeded to reject suggestions? I mean, you don't have to do what anyone suggests...but why not put those stipulations in your original post?

People can only help if they know what you're thinking. We're not mind readers.

Idk. I'm just not getting the point I guess...

Well...Im not rejecting suggestions I'm just saying that you ladies are giving suggestions that I'm not asking for I keep turning down gray .. Can you take a hint ?

You said no pink or white... And then asked for suggestions, you got them. I agree with the person who said check out Pinterest, you can search the colors you actually might like and see what others have done, and save you the trouble of getting annoyed with those who are just trying to help you out.

  • Guise, the color of the nursery is totes important! It has to be PERFECT. Clearly the only choice is rainbows as it's the furthest thing from boring, depressing, rain cloud grey! Good luck op! :D

Who the eff needs a "unique" nursery? Pick colors you like and move on. Good god some people make everything so much more complicated than necessary.

  • It's shit like this that make me beyond the moon HAPPY our kiddo's in our room.

One, I'll get to paint the master bedroom in the colors -I- freaking want.  I told DH I'd probably do an accent wall in some color I like that I could accessorize for the LO.

But then again, I might not.  Because, the kid isn't staying in our room forever, and I'm not painting my bedroom to please an infant who doesn't give two craps what the room looks like.

Now, OP, you should just go to Home Depot or Lowe's, buy their leftovers, and just splatter paint the flying FLOCK outta the walls.  That'd be fun.  Bonus points if the paint color left overs are in shades of red.  Let the walls just RUN with that stuff.  Then, accessorize with clowns.

    YWIA.  ;)

I don't think we'll be able to magically guess the colors that will suit you best.  My advice is go to a fabric store and just browse.  If you see a swatch you love, build the room around it's colors.

We basically did that.  We found furniture we love, then went through the store's glider/ottoman upholstery book until we found fabric we liked that matched the furniture.  Once those decisions were made, the color combination for the room was pretty obvious.

Rainbows are too mainstream for OP.

I suggest an all-white nursery. It'll go well with the variety of poop colors the baby will be staining everything with.

I would think white would be easy to clean. Just stock up on bleach!

That might be too trendy for OP...didn't the uber trendy duo Kimye do an all white nursery?
