Trouble TTC

-:- 3T Weekly Check-In -:-

If you are finally getting your BFP, please PM me so I don't miss it!  Also this helps me avoid posting an ambiguous BFP if you're not ready to officially call it.

Reply to this post if you would like your information updated.  Please post an update at least monthly so I know you are still active - even if your info hasn't changed.  You will be removed if you go more than four weeks without posting.

If you would like to be added or updated, please answer the questions below:

1. What is your name (if you want to share)?
2. When did you start TTC (month/year)?
3. What is your diagnosis (if you have one)?
4. What treatments are you doing?

For everyone who is up to date on the above, where are you in your current cycle and how's it going?

QOTW: Who was one of your favorite teachers/professors & why?

We are preparing for IVF in June/July and doing one more IUI (#5) in the meantime but also adding Bravelle to Letrozole for that. I have a third HSG scheduled for Wednesday and a monitoring appt scheduled for Saturday.

QOTW: I had the same English/language arts teacher from 7-9th grade and at the time I thought she was a difficult teacher, but as an adult I realize she taught us SO MUCH... Things that I have actually used in my adult life. And she also introduced us to books that other adults I know never read. I actually have a lot of fun memories from her class, even though I typically thought of her as really strict at the time like when we read The Outsiders and all dressed up at the end like "greasers" and "squares". She was also the coach of a team (academic) I was on and we traveled out of state with her as our only chaperone so have lots of fun memories from then too!

    Me: 32  DH: 33  Married: March 2004

    July 2006: started TTC
2008: HSG (normal), couple rounds of clomid through gyno
2008 - 2010: dragging my feet out of fear and procrastination
October 2010: first consultation with RE, dx PCOS and fibroids (DH slightly low count/motility)
Oct. 2010 - Dec. 2012:  In DENIAL! avoided the issue because I was scared of surgery
January 2013: returned to RE, fibroids grew significantly
February 2013: second HSG, fibroids pushed on tubes which blocked them somewhat
March 2013: MRI to determine what type of surgery may be necessary

July 29, 2013: fibroids (5) removed via robotic laparascopy
August 2013 - Nov 2013 : benched due to recent surgery

    IUI #1, Dec. 24, 2013, BFN
    IUI #2, Jan. 25, 2014, BFN
    IUI #3, Feb. 25, 2014  BFN
IUI #4 canceled due to lack of response to letrozole
    IUI #4.1 April 28, 2014, BFN

May 16, 2014: wtf consult, start prepping for IVF in June and add injects for one last IUI in the meantime
IUI #5 started letrozole and bravelle but canceled after HSG led to new diagnosis

May 21, 2014: third HSG, tubes blocked, one at the beginning, one hydrosalpinx??
June 11, 2014: consult, approved to move on to IVF because the hydro is not completely blocked therefore allowing fluid to move through slowly rather than backwards
    IVF #1 August 8, 2014 - 3dt of 2 embryos, BFN
September 17, 2014 - 4th HSG, the right tube is very patent (open!!) dye went straight through this time. Weird!
    October 2, 2014 - started metformin treatment
    November 14, 2014 - blood work, brought A1C down from 5.8 to 5.5

November 26, 2014 - RE finally back from vaca and reviewed my chart, no more IVFs for rest of calendar year
December 1, 2014 - Right after Thanksgiving, I called a new clinic and got in right away! Plan for IVF
    December 17, 2014 - ER! 29 retrieved (!!), 16 mature, all 16 fertilized (ICSI)

    IVF #2 December 20, 2014 - 3dt of 3 embryos, BFN

We are done with treatment unsuccessfully. :(

  • Our IVF consult is scheduled for Wednesday. Until then, I don't have much of a plan. C and I agreed to sit out whenever this next cycle will start. After that, I'm not sure. I want to start with the cycle after, not 100% positive that she does. We shall see. I have a big work presentation at the beginning of September, so I want to either be done before that or not start stimming until after.

QOTW: My 9-11th grade English teacher was my favorite. He was a lot of fun and very supportive and encouraging.

    Me: 30  DW (aka C): 29

Together since 2/15/11 ~ Legally married in NY on 9/29/12

    ***CP mentioned***

We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm.  8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy.  We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET.  I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013.

11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.

12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

    1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

     ****All Welcome!****

We are Mommas to four fur babies - 3 dogs and 1 cat.

  • Anxiously anticipating our post-testing-month consult Monday morning! The list of questions has surpassed 4 pages and is still going strong...thanks in no small part to the well-informed women of 3T! Even though I know there will probably be bad news, I look forward to the relief of having some clear answers and a plan of action.

Favorite teacher - a drama/language arts teacher in elementary school. I still remember so much of what he taught us - from ballroom dancing, to reciting poetry, ad libbing when you forget your lines, and cleaning a lunch table with the proper "elbow grease."

  • I'm no longer taking the ovaboost.

Current cycle is still going. Still Anovulatory as of now.

Recent tests show a strong possibility of hypothyroidism. Multiple tiny cysts were discovered on my throat via u/s. I need to do a follow up.

Favorite teacher: my mom (homeschooled through 7th grade). She nurtured my love of story telling and I've been writing my own stories since I was 7. It's a passion that has never died out for me.

QOTW: I had an Entomology professor in college that was amazing. This was something I NEVER would've taken on my own but it was a required course for education majors. I am not a bug person, but he managed to make the subject so interesting to a group of squeamish, 20 something, girls. To this day I can still properly identify over 100 different insects!

  • I ended up getting my period yesterday. I knew that it was coming on Friday. So, IUI #2 was a bust. I'm leaving for vacation on Friday, so we are taking a break this cycle. I am really happy to take one. I'm emotionally exhausted!

HSG- showed graying in one spot/Saline Sono- showed 5mm polyp
DH SA -  abnormal -  36%motility on both SA's (count and morph ok on SA1, a little off SA2)

  • Hi,

I'm new to the forum below are my stats ;)

    TTC since 06/2013
One blocked tube, mild endo & slight MFI
First cycle on clomid in preparation for IUI

QOTW: Oh dear, probably English lit. He was so well read and wordly.
  • Looks like my thyroid is out of whack yet again now I'm hyper. I'm out of the province for work training so I won't be able to get it checked again until the end of the month. So depending on when AF shows up I may have to wait another month for my next medicated cycle. Hopefully all the stress I'm under delays it.

QOTW: I can't really think of any that really stick out. I had a lot of really great teachers.

QOTW: I had a lot of great teachers. One that sticks out was an expository writing teacher from high school. I learned more about writing in a semester with him than I probably learned during the rest of my school career combined.

I had a repeat hsg Thursday - and everything is all clear! Had a positive OPK today, so thinking O day should be tomorrow or Tuesday.

QOTW: I had a couple... My middle school math teacher. She basically let me a my best friend sit at a table that faced a window, so we did our own thing (math was my best subject). A high school math teacher, he was my precal teacher, so for my senior year I took a math class that only he taught just to have him as a teacher again. I really liked his teaching style and he was a very down-to-earth normal teacher.

  • Prepping for IUI #3, with an increased dose of femara. If this IUI is a bust, I'm looking forward to my WTF appt with RE in mid June. Hopefully we can start moving toward IVF sooner than later. Follicle scan is scheduled for next Sunday.

QOTW: My high school math teacher, she taught the advanced classes and headed up NHS. She was eccentric, hilarious, and passionate about teaching. She would stay late every day just to make herself available to help students after school, she may have driven us insane sometimes but we all knew we secretly admired her :)

I have an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow morning, but I'm thinking we're probably out this cycle. I just got my cystic fibrosis results back and I'm a carrier. It's the mildest form (R117H 7T), but I'm guessing out RE won't proceed without testing DH first, and since it takes about 10 days to get the results and I'm already on CD 11, I'm not getting my hopes up. :(

ETA: I responded really well to the femara- 2 follicles on my right, 19mm and 20mm! We're testing DH this week, but my RE wasn't that concerned about the CF results after all. I think we're going to do TI this cycle, since I'm about to O probably, and worry about IUI next month. They took a blood sample to check my LH, since I haven't gotten a + OPK yet, so we'll see.

Forgot QOTW: I've had a number of awesome teachers, but none really stand out. I really liked one of my elementary school teachers, because she made the class very interactive. Mrs. Gammage. I still have a picture of us at the end of the school year. It must have been 4th grade (I had her for 4th and 5th grade).

In the 2ww now! I'm 5dpIUI. DH had much better numbers this time so while the plan is still IVF eventually, we obviously are holding out hope that IUI may do it for us! Since the numbers are better, we might be inclined to try a couple more cycles of IUI than we'd initially thought. If this cycle is a BFN, we might take a break in June and plan to have a party at our house in July for my 30th birthday (so I can drink and enjoy myself!) For check-in purposes, we are still IUI until IVF later.

QOTW: Good one! It's made me reflect on a lot of excellent teachers I've had, from grade school on up. Since there are so many, I'll just use my most recent one: I had a british instructor in professional school, he was the nicest guy and had the most perfect accent. I loved attending his lectures because his lecture style, anectodes, and the accent made what should have been a pretty scientific lecture seem like story time!
2.5 years TTC with MFI, 3 failed IUIs
    IVF w/ICSI October 2014: 17R, 13M, 12F 4 Frosties

Hi, I just introduced myself a few weeks ago.  I went off BC 7/13 and it turns out I don't ovulate.  At first they were thinking PCOS but I had my first WTF appt last week after 3 rounds of meds that I didn't respond to and my RE thinks I might have nonclassical congenital adrenal hyperplasia.  So I'm currently benched waiting for my appt next month with an endocrinologist.
QOTW: My eighth grade science teacher.  He made science so cool- he would show us all these awesome experiments in class.  I am such a nerd.

  • Just got back from my beta blood draw, the results should be ready in a few hours. I'm dreading it. Even knowing that a BFN is coming, it still sucks to hear them say it. We'll be on a treatment break for a few months, i am trying to get an appointment with Dr. kwak-Kim a Reproductive Immunologist in Chicago. Hopefully she can find some reasons why our cycles keep failing.

QOTW: My high school history teacher Mr. Kasprovich. I remember him coming up to me after I missed Valedictorian by one class and he told me that it didn't really matter that he knew I would do great at whatever I chose to do with my life.

  • CD 39 or 53 here, depends on where you count from after my CP last cycle and my saline.  Have a call in to the RE to find out where to go from here.

Our anniversary was yesterday and we had a long talk about using Donor sperm and trying the IUI, H is starting to see that it might not be such a bad plan.
