January 2014 Moms

What are you looking forward to?

I'm certainly not wishing the time away with my DD because time is already passing way too fast, but every now and then I catch myself saying "I can't wait for her to...". I look forward to her being able to sit up on her own and to hear her say her first "momma". I'm enjoying every cuddle and chance to rock her now though because I know that won't last forever. Are there things/milestones you ladies are looking forward to? On the flip side what will you miss the most as you LO grows up?

Re: What are you looking forward to?

  • Looking forward to putting her hair in pigtails, sharing great books that she'll be able to read on her own one day, and hearing "I love you" from her little voice.

Going to miss the ridiculous amount of cuddles I get each day because I'm sure they'll go away eventually. Also, how I can make her laugh so easily!

  • I can't wait for him to be able to actually play with DD. She loves on him so much and shows him all her toys. She has also tried to put a princess crown or two on his head.
  • This is probably my last baby so I kind of just want to freeze time. He is so stinking cute right now.

  • I'm looking forward to preschool.

I look at DD's newborn pic almost every day and I can't believe how big she gotten. I'm going to miss carrying her to sleep and babbling.

  • I love the stage we're at right now, so not trying to speed time, but I am looking forward to all the exciting things to come over the next year - first words, first steps. Christmas will be so much fun because he'll be old enough to participate.

  • I'm looking forward to her being able to sit up. I also love how her talking has developed and changed. I find her "Tarzan" moments hilarious.

  • I can't wait to make memories she will remember like Mommy/Daughter dates, vacations, etc.

  • Going to the zoo. First words. I second the pigtails. Dance classes and soccer practice. Picking a college. So very many things!

I will miss the cuddles. Her baby hair. Her smile first thing in the morning. Crashing in my arms. And, nursing a little I suppose.

  • I can't wait for her to sleep through the night!  I am also excited for her to talk, run around and to be potty trained.

I will miss wearing her in the baby carrier, her nearly toothless smile, the time I spend with her as I feed her, and her kicking in her infant bath.
  • I have another - I'm so looking forward to him not fountaining spit up! I don't know how this kid gains any weight with the amount of milk that comes out of him!

  • I'm also looking forward to not being spit up on, him learning to crawl so my spine can recover from carrying this hefty little guy :) and hearing him say his first few words.
On the flip side, I'll miss putting him down in one spot and him staying there until I come back. I'll miss how little he used to be and his sweet little snuggles.

I'm so torn. Every time she does something new I'm so excited but I'm sad that my teeny little baby is growing so fast. But I am looking forward to her being able to run and play, say her first words, her first vacations and holidays, when she is old enough to actually play with the dog, so many things!

I spent lots of time looking forward to things with my boys. Now I can only think of things that I'll miss as she grows. I'm all for freezing time.

  • Sitting up, walking, talking. I just want more interaction even though he already interacts quite a bit

  • Looking forward to dress shopping for her dances. Seriously, I was daydreaming about that a few days ago, which made me so thrilled. That's waaaaaaaay down the line!

I miss when I could out her down and not worrying about her moving and getting caught up in something like the leg of her RnP or tangled in her activity gym.

There are things I'm excited about for each stage! Right now I can't wait for her to be mobile and talking. One of my coworkers (with teenage kids) joked that we spend the first year of their lives dying for them to walk and talk and then spend the next 17 years trying to get them to sit down and be quiet. I can't wait for her to say "I love you", for us to be able to have mommy-daughter dates, to see her dancing with her daddy, I could go on...
I'm going to miss the cuddles, being able to put her down and know she'll stay put, the big gummy smiles and baby giggles.
  • There's no guarantee how her teen years will go, if we will get along, butt heads or whatever. If we do, I don't know how long it will take her to come back around. It took me from 12-21 to realize how awesome my mom is and finally be nice to her again. I plan to pray hard on it.

Anyway, I can't wait for her to be my best friend like my mom is my best friend. :)
