How many Cervidil treatments?

I had my first Cervidil treatment yesterday morning at 9am. In 12 hours I dilated to 1cm from a fingertip. Contractions had started but were inconsistent. Went home on a 12 hour pass.

At 9pm last night I got my second treatment. Contractions got to 3 mins apart for 40s. I opted to go home on a pass to continue labouring in my own home. Since being home and resting in bed for a few hours, contractions have slowed to inconsistent and not measurable.

No MP and bag of waters still intact.

I am due back at L&D at 9am again. What are the chances they are going to give me another Cervidil treatment? I really don't feel like I have progressed under the second treatment and find the 2hour post-insertion monitoring painful for my hips and legs (why do they make the hospital beds so uncomfortable?!).

Have you had more than one treatment? Did they try something else?

    I only had 1 treatment. Started at 1cm 50% effaced. It got me to 2 cm 70%.. My midwife felt that was all it was going to do so she started pitocin. I was having contractions after it also but nothing consistent. Some people it is enough to jump start active labor but most people need more intervention. For me, as soon as she broke my water, the real stuff happened. Went from 3cm to pushing in 2 hours. You might just need more than the cervidil

    I am thinking breaking my water might be the next course of action. They mentioned starting an oxy/pit drip but it was going to be based on how far I had progressed.

    I had no idea they would even do more than one treatment. I'm being induced tomorrow night into Monday and was told I would do Cervadil Sunday night, they would probably break my water on Monday morning and start the Pitocin then.

    I had 3 Cervidil treatments before they moved on to Cytotec (double dose) and then Pit.
