Pregnant after a Loss

AW: maybe PGAL related, maybe not?

Happy Saturday ladies. My question may be TMI, so I'm sorry in advance!

I am almost 5 wks pregnant. Yesterday I discovered a small, cyst like bump in my vaginal area. I thought it was a cut at first. No pus, no bleeding, minor discomfort, not on or around my cervix. I'll be calling my OB Monday to make sure it's nothing, but has anyone else ever had something similar?

  • I'm not sure if this is what you're talking about, but I had a cyst pop up during my last tri when I was pregnant with my son (2011). Doctor told me it would go away on it's own, but if not to come back in and they would take care of it. It didn't go away and I ended up letting him drain it (disgusting, I know! Sorry) at my 6 week PP visit.

It kept popping back up, more and more frequently, and having to be drained. They originally thought it was a bartholin gland cyst, which is fairly common if annoying. They later found out that was actually a skene glad cyst.

Mine did not go away (which both the doctor and the specialist let me know was super rare) and after 3 years of dealing with it, I recently had the entire gland removed. (After trying a marsupialozation, which did not work for me).

If it's uncomfortable or painful I would let your doctor know. They will probably prescribe some antibiotic and sitting in a warm (not hot!) bath and warm compresses to see if it will go away on it's own.

    Good luck and feel better!

  • Thanks ladies. It's slightly uncomfortable, not too bad but enough to make me nervous. Every little thing is putting me over the edge these days. I'll give my OB a call Monday.

  • Sounds good to me! I would go ahead and start the hot compresses. Mine seemed to get larger over the weekend since I couldn't go to the doctor.

Be sure and wrap it in a dishcloth or towel so it doesn't scald you :)

    Feel better soon!
