Nursing bra suggestions

Ftm and I am two weeks post partum. My milk has evened out and I'm ready for some real nursing bras that don't give me saggy uniboob. Most of what I have are wireless tanks and soft bras from target and they are not presentable enough for public. Looking for some brand suggestions or tips for shopping for bras. I was thinking about taking a trip to motherhood maternity but I wasn't sure of their quality. I'm about a 36c/d I think. Thanks!

Motherhood bras are nice at first, but I had a hard time with the wires popping out of the underwire ones after only a couple of weeks and the sleep bras offer zero support. Motherhood bras also have plastic support ribs on the sides that would dig into my flesh and make me miserable by the end of the day. But I am plus size and large breasted, so I'm sure that makes a big difference.

My favorite were the Medela bras. They're soooooo soft and comfy and they hold up incredibly well. Bravado is the brand I see recommended most on TB boards, but I never tried them. I was happy enough with Medela.

Avoid Old Navy nursing wear. It's all shapeless and offers no support.

  • I only wear Bravado and I love them! I am quite large chested so I was only able to find the size (in a store locally) I need in Bravado so that was also my only option. Their tanks are amazingly supportive also.

  • Which bravado do you recommend?
  • I'd wait a bit longer if I were you. It takes about 5-6 weeks for your supply to be established. Many women wake up one day feeling like their breasts are "empty" but it's just their supply finally regulating. I also love my Bravado Seamless Silk for everyday wear, Bravado Bliss for when I want more "structure", and am a huge fan of Hotmilk.

  • Like @sthomas1222‌ I love the Bravado Seamless Silk. I'm a 38 D when nursing, and the large fits well. I ordered from Amazon and it wasn't cheap, but worth the price. I've tried cheap ones from Target and some pricier ones from Motherhood/Pea in the Pod and they are definitely the most comfortable.

I've been thinking of ordering a Bravado Bliss as well.

  • I haven't had my baby yet but everyone I talk to recommends going to a Soma store to be fitted and using their nursing bras.  They're usually 2/$60 and I've heard getting two is the perfect amount of "nice" bras to have.  My plan is to go there once supply has regulated.
  • I will third the bravado seamless silk bras and second their nursing camis. I love them! Everything I have read/been told says to stay away from underwires while nursing. I feel I have a little more uniboob with the bravado but I think they are less so than some other wireless bras I've had in the past.
