Baby girl doesnt like the left side?

So you know how all the books say sleep on your left? She favors my right. I tried flipping for a change, and my heart started palpitating and as soon as I went back to the right, it stopped and she's doing flips in there. I'm sick of sleeping on my right side dammit! Rant over.

  • @scarfbandit YES! I have been getting terrible nightmares. Never had any so scary in my life. I'm just so glad to wake up but then it's damned near impossible to get back to sleep of course, haha.

And yeah, I've noticed my little girl favors the right side too. If she's okay with it that's fine by me.

  • Sleep on whatever side is comfy. My doctor told me that I could sleep however I wanted (including on my stomach) as long as I wasn't sleeping on my back.

Sleep however you can sleep!  Weird but I totally noticed heart palpitations on my left side last night too.  I start to get them when my thyroid meds need to be tweaked and I'm having blood work done next week, but I'm going to pay attention tonight and see if it's different on my right side.

  • Crazy, wild, insane, intense dreams!

I prefer to sleep ob my right but I get horrible acid reflux. It feels like battery acid climbing up my throat. :( Baby seems to prefer the right side too- which is a first for me, lol.

Yep. I can't sleep on my left side while pregnant. When I was pregnant with DS, I would get nausueaous all through my pregnancy if I tried to lay on my left side. Now this time, I get so gassy that I burp like every two seconds which is annoying when trying to sleep.

  • It's not exactly the same, but when I lie on my left, she starts kicking like crazy on my right. I figured its because she's upside down (not a medical diagnosis but whatever!) I think sleeping on the tight us more comfortable anyway so it works out.

  • I'm the same. I was just telling H about it this morning. He goes a crazy when I'm on my left side not so much my right. I used to be a back sleeper so I wake up a lot on my back and just move on my side.

  • I was also told it's fine to sleep however is comfortable, including on my back with a pillow. I don't know if stomach sleepibg is comfortable for many people but baby is so well protected that I can't imagine it would do any harm :) My midwife told me that my body would let me know something was wrong long before it got serious, even if I'm asleep. I know it's controversial because people seem to take the side sleeping thing very seriously but I went in to my last appt quite concerned because I move a ton in my sleep and really can't control where I end up. She said the sleepibg issue gets overblown and to get a body pillow, stay comfortable and listen to your body. Working for me so far!
