I didn't get to reply yet to the posts the other day about your IVF protocols. I really appreciated hearing everyone's experiences! It was very helpful.

Today we met with our RE. We are going to proceed with IVF but have to wait until after the next seminar which is the second week of June. (He said he would do half ICSI and half regular). So in the meantime we are going to do one more IUI and add Bravelle for 3 days to the Letrozole I already have been doing. They said Letrozole cd 3-7 as normal and Bravelle shots cd 5, 7, 9 and my next follicle check will be cd 9 before I do that days shot. Then I'm thinking trigger shortly after that based on how I've responded in the past.

My DH and I went ahead and did the bloodwork/std testing today to prep for IVF. Oh I also have to do another HSG next week to double check the tubes because it's been almost a year since they last checked which was at my surgery. This will be my 3rd HSG.

So basically we need to secure funds for all this (IVF)..basically a loan. The RE said we'd do BC, then Lupron, then the meds (but he didn't go into detail about which ones... Would it still be Bravelle?) sooo I need to figure out what the cost of all that would be and just add in the cost of all the extra appts etc. what are your experiences with the cost of Lupron? He quoted me $45-50 for each Bravelle shot but today I was able to get free samples, woo hoo!! I guess the other costs I'll have to get from my office. And we will hopefully reach our $4000 deductive fairly soon so that will be helpful!!

Anyway thanks for reading all this if you got this far. I have clients all day and have no one to process with. (I'm sneaking this post in in between appts!)

Congrats on moving forward with the next steps...I guess it's good that you have this extra time to get finances in order, and hopefully that last IUI will make the IVF unnecessary!!

My RE told me that my meds would cost anywhere from $3000-$3500 depending on how I respond. I am also doing BCP, lupron, Follistim 225u/day (which is where the most $$ is going), menopur (I think), and Pregnyl. My insurance covers 30% of follistim and menopur only and that was factored in to my estimate but I'm going to ask about Gonal F because it's cheaper than even Follistim after insurance. As far as our base package price for IVF with ICSI it's $8990 and that includes all appointments and everything but meds.

My IVF is rather expensive. IVF is 10k and were doing ICSI for another 2k, and PDG for 5k. My meds are expected to cost about 6k. My protocol is bcp Gonal, Menopur, Ganirelix, and trigger. This starts 5-27. Then in July I'll prep for FET with lupron, vivelle, estradiol, and PIO. Anastesia and storage are extra but only like $1500. I'm OOP so no help from from my ins.

@Lillovebug79‌ Hm I guess I need to see if they have any packages already. Guess I'll find that our at the seminar. How many u/s does that assume you will have? And do you know what your estimated number of injectibles is that you'll have to do? Are you starting on this next cycle? GL!!

@Pintobean39‌ yikes that is a lot! Fortunately I have some insurance coverage but they are so confusing with what they cover and not. We're gonna have to get a loan for IVF so I just need to try to narrow down the cost as much as I can. GL with your next cycle!!

Yes, I'm starting next cycle

they estimated 4 USs, 1 baseline and 3 monitoring. The package also includes sounding (uterine measurements I think), protocol review, retrieval, ICSI, and transfer. I have some insurance coverage so that helps. They also deducted for my insurance covering 80% of USs although it doesn't cover that much of anything else. Also if we have anything to freeze, that isn't covered at all and will be an extra $450. I also had no idea all the prep was going to be so expensive! The SHG, labs for DH and I, and also we had to freeze a sample just as a back up (My RE requires it for all patients) we spent another about $1100 because we hadn't met our deductible yet.

As far as meds go, I believe will be on follistim 225U + menopur 75 + lupron 5u daily during stimulation. Then I'll start progesterone injections which aren't very expensive and I'll have the Lupron during BCP and also my trigger. If my doses don't need increased at all, I think it will be around $3100.
