Long story short, an airline friend of ours hooked us up with stand-by tickets to fly to an out of town wedding tomorrow. The Sunday return flight is not looking so good, so now we're thinking about driving the 7.5 hours to the wedding. Should we (a) break up the drive and sleep somewhere tonight and finish the drive tomorrow, or (b) leave tomorrow at 5:30 a.m. and complete the drive in one shot?
I'm hesitant about doing it one shot...but am also nervous about leaving tonight as we did not prepare for this at all. Also, I have yet to spend more than 30 minutes in my car since I've pregnant. Any advice about which route would be easier on me and/or any general advice about taking long road trip while pregnant?
Re: Need road trip advice...
I would probably just get up early and drive there tomorrow. But I would add into the drive at least 2 half hour or longer stops. And bring a large water bottle and refill it at the stops. Then if your bladder needs more stops, that's probably good for you too. When you stop, get out and go for a short walk, plus bathroom, and a little stretching. It won't be totally comfortable but you'll survive it.
I have a 26hr trip at 27 and 32 weeks and we are taking a couple of days but with breaks. 7.5hr sounds fun in comparison!
