DS has ASD and I wanted to ask if anybody can please direct me to find good apps for teeth brushing?
It has been utter hell with teeth brushing because all DS wants to do is bite on his tooth brush and he is capable of brushing the front teeth. We are still using toddler toothpaste and he is 5.
TIA
Re: Apps for Ipad
And maybe my expectations are too high.
What is oral desensitizing?
Flouridated water sounds like an idea.
I use toddler toothpaste because DS swallows it. I could start trying to smear the real stuff over his teeth and see what happens.
I think DH would have fun showing books with decaying teeth. He already teases DS about crabs eating his beloved turtles. DS is a turtle fan.
Heck, I don't even like the dentist.
I could try the shot idea.
There was another instance the daycare DS attended 2 years ago had professionals come and do a teeth cleaning. I did sign consent forms and DS refused to open his mouth at that time.
This last experience was my reason to such a delay in seeing a dentist and I have a hard time going in there with DS's toothbrush to get the back and top teeth.
I am going to do research and see if there are dentists that have a good staff that can handle special needs.
I did get DS some teeth brushing songs from youtube for kids. I even explained that his teeth get dirty when he eats food and he has to brush every single tooth.
I could go back to having him brush my teeth and I brush his. It worked and got him to open his mouth when he was younger.
