Ladies I just wanted to share my birth story with you so that if you don't feel right, please go to the hospital.
Mother's Day midnight I saw bloody show. I started having contractions around 1 am. I called my doctors office to let them know I might be coming in. Thankfully my doctor was on call at the hospital that night. I arrived at the hospital at 3 am. The nurse performed an NST on the baby and checked me (1 cm dilated). She had me walk around the maternity ward to get things moving. 45 min later another check and still 1 cm. She called my dr and let her know. My dr gave orders to send me home.
We arrived home at 6 am, I tried to rest and get some sleep, which did not work out. Hubby and I walked around the house timing contractions which were 4 min apart. We now make our way back to the hospital at 2 pm where I got another exam and NST. This time I was told fingertip dilated and that my cervix had not changed since that morning. I explained to the nurse how could I be fingertip dilated and in so much pain, it did not make sense in my head. She again called my doctor and let her know how my exam went. Mind you this is the second time there and still hadn't seen her even though I spoke to her earlier. So I'm sent home again.
We get in the car and I'm in soo much pain, we get home 25 min later and told hubby that we need to go to a different hospital. We jump back in the car and go to a local hospital which wasn't far from home. We get there and 20 min later I'm seen by the OB on call. She does an exam and tells me I'm 6 cm dilated, I was admitted right there! I was in excrutiating pain by then! Of course they had to call the other hospital to get all my records so I'm sure my OB pretty much must heard I went to another hospital. Leandro was born 5/12 at 6:40 am, healthy and all.
Just wanted to share my story to warn you ladies, if something doesn't feel right, go and find a second opinion ASAP!

It is baffling to me that they were that off - but I am glad you followed your gut and went elsewhere.
