I'm a FTM and sooooooooooooooooooooo overwhelmed by choices for everything out there!!! I am looking to see what other moms have used in the past for baby monitoring and what they recommend. Help!!!!
I have a Motorola monitor, the one with the larger screen, and I've been happy with it. It froze once, but I think that was partially my fault and it never happened again. DD is 16 months old and we have been using it since she was born.
We had a Summer one. It was pretty basic. It had the portable base, with volume and I think dimmer. It was color, but that wasnt really important. I had no problems with it! I really liked having the portable base. I think you could also add more cameras and be able to switch back and forth. Ill see if I can find the one we had.
We have the smaller screen Motorola. DD is 15 months old and we have never had an issue with it. It works very well, has never frozen, and the night vision is pretty clear. I love being able to peek at her without waking her up by opening the door. And when we purchased it we thought the temperature feature was probably one we'd never use, but seeing the room temp has been very helpful! It helps me decide between short/long sleeves and whether or not she needs the fan on. Especially when she was tiny and we didn't use a blanket.
We've also got the large screen Motorola and love it. I'll agree that the battery life isn't fantastic, but we've found its easily enough for one nap/his bedtime to my bedtime period. I also agree that the temperature feature is quite useful.
We have the Motorola video monitor also. We got it when baby number two came along since it's one parent unit and two cameras. And you can add up to four cameras.
