Update: GBS negative, so that's good. Zero progress except some softening, not so exciting, but I've never made progress before labor anyway. The doctors are offering to induce me at 39 weeks (which they are going by 5/28, but I think it's actually 6/1 going by my O date) because DD was a fast labor/delivery (got to the hospital at 10 cm and the only thing keeping her in was that my water hadn't broken, which was rare and lucky). It's completely up to me and I've been against it the whole time (Pitocin is evil, IMO), but now I'm getting so anxious about when I might go into labor and how to plan for a quick getaway to the hospital with two little ones home with me all day... I don't know, I'm feeling torn! I need to decide by Monday and LO can be here by late next week, but I don't know what to do...
OB at 10 EST. 36 week check up and GBS test. My MW had a family emergency this week so now I get to have some strange Dr swabbing up my ho-ha today. Fun stuff.
I'll also be going in to get my ankle (possible spider bite that caused major swelling) checked out.
On my way to my appointment, just my typical OB and ultrasound. Hopefully I can light a fire under my doctor's ass and get him discussing labor.and delivery, cuz at 34 weeks w/twins I'm rather uncomfortable that we haven't discussed it yet. [-(
10:30 AM EST OB. First of the weekly appointments where they are going to start looking up my junk. Lol. Not sure what to expect. I have not had the energy to any landscaping down below so I feel bad for my doc. Good luck everyone.
Growth ultrasound followed by OB appointment. They want to check on "how big she actually is" again which just freaks me out that I'm going to have a 50 pound baby.
Had my NST at 10 am this morning. Baby girl was not cooperating. Thought they were going to have to do a BPP but then she started moving around right at the end.
Dr also checked me and I am one centimeter!! She said she could feel baby's head! That freaked me out a little. I know being one centimeter doesn't really mean too much but I am still excited because it means my body is getting ready. And since they plan on inducing me, the more my body can do without their help, the better!!
Appointment went well. Gained 10 lbs since last time, to which my OB said, "Ooh, you're swelling!" and I responded, "Yes, yes I am." She didn't even have to look at my big fat ankles to know!
BP good, measuring well, baby's heartbeat sounds great and baby's head is down, so yay! Also got the GBS swab taken, should find out those results soon enough.
DD1: June 2014 - VBM4lyfe DD2: October 2016 DC3: coming May 2019
They looked at it and brushed it off as probably being a red ant bite and that I just need to ice it and take Benadryl. I get bit by red ants all the time, including one last week. I just get a semi-hard itchy bump with no swelling so I'm having a hard time believing that. Plus I've been icing and taking Benadryl and it's not doing anything. So frustrated.
My OB appointment was... interesting. My normal MW is out for the month because her husband is very ill. She's also retiring in June so that means I'll be seeing random Dr.s from here on out. I'm measuring at 35 weeks but I've been measuring 1-2 weeks behind the whole time so no surprise there. Baby's HB is in the 130's/140's. The weirdest part of my appointment was the GBS test.
I totally thought it was weird that they make you take your own swab sample for the GBS test. I was like seriously, I can't even shave down there anymore cause my belly is just getting in the way and now you want me to reach down, feel around, and swab?!?! I was sent to the bathroom with a swab and instructions on what to do. I have no idea if I even did it right. It was really awkward and difficult for me to try to do.
Oh, and they couldn't schedule another appointment for me until like a week after my due date so now I'm on the "wait list" for canceled appointments. Ugh, I had all my appointments booked out though my due date but because my usual MW is out for the month they have to reschedule all my appointments with whatever/whoever is available.
I just had a biophysical profile and then saw the doctor after. My fluid is very low, so she told me to double the amount I'm drinking. I'm gonna live in the bathroom. I have to go back Monday to have another one.
Strep B test came back negative yey !! But my doc ordered a size ultrasound! Yickes! She said I'm measuring on track and baby boy is very low which indicates he is not too big but she wants to check...I'm pretty petite so maybe that's why!? Now I'm worried bc I was begging for ultrasounds all of my pregnancy and they always refused them until now...hope he is not bigger than average!!!
@MrsAMB07 I dont think being induced is a bad thing esp since you're worried about your kiddos and getting the hospital quickly. And you may not even need pitocin if cervadil works? Im also being induced at 39wks and looking forward to "planned" labor. Just show up at the appt, check into a room, get comfy, induced and wait for baby! Im a ftm so might be a little naive about the whole thing, but it beats my water breaking at the grocery store, waiting for DH to come get me and sitting in traffic for an hour to get to the hospital then potentially turned away bc my contractions aren't far enough apart...
My appt was full of fun again. Fluid levels are back to normal, yay! But, now first pre-e scare, boo. My BP jumped to 80, and has been in the low 60s since forever. So they took blood and Im going back tmrw to check bp again. Pending blood test results we may schedule induction for 5/20, 8 days before my original induction date (38w3d). Unless I don't even make it till then bc cervix is "softening at lighting speed" and had bloody show !! Im so ready for this little guy to make his big entrance and he's been kicking the shiest out of me all day. I think he's cramped and ready to get out!!
I had my twice weekly NST and fluid check. I also had to have blood work to check my potassium levels since they were so low I had to have an IV at the hospital on Tuesday. I'm now at home on bed rest until the baby comes. Baby is doing great, but still breech. I'm a bit worried about my work situation with FMLA and short term disability because I was planning on working until my due date.
Growth u/s went great! Baby is measuring 37w1d so perfect on track! At my appt they mentioned I had gained 8 pounds in a week (yikes!). They are running some labs to check for pre-e and to check my liver functioning. The doctor asked why I thought I had gained so much so I mentioned the crazy swelling. She felt my legs and kind of freaked. I should hear back tomorrow. Good news is that my GBS was negative!
Had what I hope was my last bi-weekly appt today. She stripped my membranes and told me I was at 2cm! I know it may not work but I'm keeping my FX. Not looking forward to being induced.
Appointment went great! Dr. is EXTREMELY happy with how well the boys are doing. He wasn't so happy with my PUPPPS rash though... He said that with how well the boys are doing and with their growth slowing the way it has (as twins thats normal at the end of the pregnancy), at 36 weeks (2 weeks from now, the average gestation for twins) if my PUPPPS has gotten worse and the boys growth keeps slowing (as he thinks it will) he will deliver them. So more than likely I will have my boys in my arms on the 29th!
They were estimated at 4#12oz and 4#14 oz. Big boys The unfortunate part is that while Kellan (baby has positioned himself head down, Connor (baby A, the deciding baby for csection) is still breech. So if he hasn't flipped by the time my doc wants to deliver them, it will be a csec, which scares the crap out of me. But as long as they get here safely at a time my doc deems appropriate, I'm happy!
Had the start of my weekly appts at 10am. Met the last doctor in my practice and am so happy that I liked him. LO is doing everything right...measuring on track, good heartbeat, getting into position. Had my GBS test which was much easier than I had imagined. All in all, today was a success! So excited and thankful!
First weekly appointment today. Group b strep test, fun fun. Baby measuring right on track at 35w. Checked my cervix. 50% effaced no dilation. Dr could feel baby's head bouncing off my cervix. Yep, feel that all the time. Feet, ankles and hands are swelling like crazy. Dr. Says all is good. Going to check my fluid at 38w. It was really low with first DS at 39w.
Had us yesterday. She is still breech. Taking after mom. Lol. Will see ob on Monday to schedule c section at 39 weeks. All is good just big girl she is at 6.6 pounds I'm 35 weeks yesterday
Have to watch swelling. Feet pretty swollen.

@jmar2011 - thinking of you and your LO. FX that all goes well!!!
Uneventful checkup. (Yay) I think my belly dropped. I was measuring 3-4 weeks ahead this whole time, but now I'm "right on track." BP is good, didn't gain any weight since last appt, baby's heartbeat is good. Doc suggested I get a belly cradle to get my belly off my lap so I'd be more comfortable.
@jmar2011 - I have to do the 24 hour urine collection on Sunday too. We can be pee buddies. Good luck on everything. Hopefully, neither of us have pre-e.
