Panties or Undies?

The last poll about pajamas got me wondering...what do you call your underwear? Underwear? Undies? Skivvies? Panties? My college roommate haaaated the word "panties," she put it up there with the word "moist." So tell me, what so you call 'em?

I have never really thought about it and now I am not sure if it's undies or underwear. I may do both unconsciously.

Growing up, we said it in Hebrew. I say 'underwear' to DD1 (and I just realized that I'm not using Hebrew with her for that and I might change it). DH says 'undies' and I hate that. And it's funny because he doesn't seem like the type of person who would say undies. I hate the word panties.

A girl in DD1's preschool class calls them bloomers. Hilarious to hear a 3 year old say that.

I either call them panties or underwear. I probably use underwear more than I say panties though.

I voted underwear. But I will explain a caveat. I have always called and still call mine underwear. But somehow when we potty trained DD we started calling them "big girl panties" to her so now she calls hers panties. I call them both when talking about her underwear. But mine are never panties. I am strange. :-P

My mom used to refer to our pants at britches. I don't think I've ever heard anyone use that word IRL other than her!

I say underwear for myself, but I always called my 18 year old's underwear panties when he was little because he would giggle and get so serious about them being underwear. I call dd's diapers panties.
