Ultrasound anxiety

So I had my US today and the Dr said there is some fluid around my lil girl. Of course my heart dropped, what does that mean, is it bad, ect. He assured me it's ok, but they'll keep an eye on it moving forward. All other tests like a cleft, ect came back negative; but it could be an indication of gestational diabetes as time goes on.
On top of that, I'm 22 weeks. But my girl is the size of 24 weeks, and my boy is 23 weeks. Mind you, my hubby is a big guy (6'4). But again their size is something they want to continue to monitor.
Has anyone dealt with either of these potential issues? I left feeling better after the Dr assured me they're healthy, yet it's on my mind of the what if . . .

Was he referring to extra amniotic fluid (possible polyhydramnios)? If so, it's something they keep a close eye on no matter what, especially with twins. It can vary depending on a lot of factors like time of day, how much the baby has been drinking/peeing, GD, etc so it can mean something but also could mean nothing. If fluid levels are high/low consistently or there are drastic changes it usually will mean extra u/s (weekly in 3rd tri) just to keep an eye on levels. With DD we had low fluid, with the twins we had one with high levels of fluid and one with low levels. In the case with our twins it was a big deal since we were already at risk for TTTS with mo-dis. My boys always measured on the big side for twins, but there was growth discordance that is still present at 10mos. It was fairly minor in our case, just meant extra monitoring. Try to not stress too much over it...remind yourself that your OB said they're healthy and things look okay.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience! I've been stressing since I let the appt but need to focus on what the dr said, and how they look healthy!
