Lip tie

I just recently noticed that LO looks to be lip tied. I had to have surgery to correct this after braces because it was causing my teeth to revert back to their original position. I am wondering if any of you ladies have LOs that are lip tied and do you plan on having it corrected? I have read that it can cause issues with BM supply, speech, and tooth positioning later in life. I plan on having the ped look at it at DDs 4 month appt. If there was already a thread about this, please direct me to it. My search function never works on my iPad.

    My LO had lip and tongue ties corrected at 10 days. The procedure took less than 5 minutes and was healed in a week.
    I hope to create a real siggy but first I need some sleep!

    My LO has a lip tie. He, also, had a tongue tie that was revised at 5 weeks. I was told that lip ties and tongue ties run hand-in-hand. It wouldn't hurt to have your LO checked for a tongue tie because those can cause speech and feeding issues, as well. I do plan on having his lip tie fixed at some point, if he doesn't break it himself.

    Breastfeeding seems to be going fine but I worry about my supply taking a hit at some point if not corrected. I know that typically it is best to have it done as soon as possible. Would you schedule an appointment to get the ball rolling on diagnosing and correcting lip tie or would you hold off another month until the next well-baby visit?

    @greenbunny79‌ I had two peds and two LC's tell me they didn't see a tie, but couldn't figure out why LO couldn't BF efficiently. I finally went to a speech pathologist and she noticed right away that it was a posterior tongue tie ( still have no clue what the difference is ). Getting the tongue clipped helped significantly and it didn't seem to bother LO for more than a few hours.

    DS had a lip tie and posterior tongue tie lasered at 10 weeks. A ped said his tongue was fine, but the dentist said his tongue was worse than his lip.
