Good morning ladies!!
So here is a little background first. My son is 3 years old and after I had him, I experienced severe post partum anxiety. It was so bad and I hope I never have to experience that again. I went on Zoloft for a while and that seemed to help me. This time I am looking into placenta encapsulation. I found a certified specialist who will do this in my home. Everything would be $300.
My question is, have any of you done this before with past births? Did it help you? Would you do it again? Does this price seem right?
Thanks so much for your help!!
Re: Placenta Encapsulation - Past Results
I did not do it with my son and had severe PPD. I did it with my daughter and the difference was night and day. I had so much more energy and just a better outlook on everything. I am most definitely doing it again. The girl that I have come over charges $185 and that's with a summer special (I think its normally $225).
My theory was that it was better than being on medication that would prohibit me from breastfeeding (or even a slight transfer rate via breastmilk)....and I thought it was worth a shot - ANYTHING was better than having the PPD I had the first time around.
I would say go for it. I would call a few in your area (assuming there are a few available) and compare prices. HTH!

I'm doing it again this time. I think it's around $250-300 here. Can't remember.
