Beach vacation / baby rentals?

We're heading to the beach for a vacation soon, and plan to rent a pack 'n play from a baby rentals place. Two questions... (1) Does anyone have experience with a baby rentals company? I'm hoping it works out okay. It's a bit pricey for the week, but easier than lugging ours on the plane. I'm bummed the condo we're staying at doesn't have one; we've stayed in places that have had them onsite already before. (2) Since we have to pay a flat delivery fee, I'm wondering if it's beneficial to rent anything else - toys, beach umbrella, etc? Any thoughts? FWIW, we're staying in a popular family-friendly beach town, so thinking we can probably get our hands on an umbrella relatively easy... and I think that'll work better than a beach tent. We'll have our own carseat and stroller.

We just came back from the beach and honestly R hated the sand. He did not like walking on it. We rolled in like the Beverly Hill Billies with a beach canopy, all kinds of sand toys, towels, you name it. We spent the entire time holding him or on the board walk. The beach we went to had cabanas to rent on a daily/weekly basis that come with chairs. That was basically what we found the most useful. If the condo doesn't have beach chairs or some kind of shade I'd rent that.

  • We also just came back from the beach. Our little one doesn't walk very well so we had to bring a carrier to take him places. A stroller and sand don't work well. Our LO didn't mind the sand. He would stand on the beach and we let the ocean waves come up across his feet and he loved touching the sand with his hands. The first time he touch the sand he was freaked out but the next day we has fine. We were there 5 days and he enjoyed and loved the water.

  • Good ideas - Thank you! LO isn't quite walking on his own yet, but luckily we're staying right across the street from the beach, so if we need to carry him and take a couple trips it hopefully won't be a big deal. I'm going to look into chairs and an umbrella / canopy. Thanks!

I definitely read the title of this thread as in being abloe to rent a baby.  You can take mine to the beach as long as I can come too!
