Car Seat Recommendations

I wanted to get your alls' recommendations for convertible car seats. We are still in his Graco infant car seat that has been great, but as soon as he is sitting up on his own completely, I will most likely be looking for a new car seat. No sense lugging it around at that point IMO. I am looking for one reasonably priced because I have to buy two and one that will last a while. I appreciate any advice/opinions/help. :)

Re: Car Seat Recommendations

  • If you do a search for a convertible car seats there have been some great discussions not that long ago :) we have a Britax Marathon as our main seat and Chicco NextFit as our secondary seat (got it on that crazy sale from Target)...I like and would recommend both

Follow Baby Cheapskates on Facebook they post awesome deals/sales going on...I believe this week there is a deal on Britax seats in Kohls if you stack two coupon codes, free delivery
  • Loading the player...
  • We plan to get the Chicco Nextfit soon.  I'm hoping for a good deal to pop up.

We have the Chicco Nextfit and love it! Usually priced at $279. If you are looking for less expensive, I have no personal experience with this one but the group "Carseats for the Littles" recommends the Evenflo Sureride for $99.

DD has the Chicco NextFit and I love it. Very easy to install and she seems very comfortable in it. Like PP said, high rear facing limits that will get most, if not all kids rear facing to four. Plus, it doesn't take up much front-to-back space. Great car seat :)

DS will probably be getting the same. I'm torn between the Chicco and the new Diono Radians. They are set to be shipped for the first time in a few weeks so I will wait out initial reviews.

Join car seats for the Littles on FB. Post type of car, baby's stats, etc. and they'll give suggestions. We got 2 Graco MySize 65's - longest rear facing shell on the market for height (we are RFing as long as possible) and reasonably priced. We also considered the Chicco NextFit
It's the 2nd highest RFing limit. The Gracos have many "clones" sold by different retailers - Headwise, Fit4Me, etc. BEWARE - the MyRide is different and not recommended. I've also learned to stay away from the Alpha Omega Elite.

  • Here's a recent discussion on this, there's a lot of good info!

We have the NextFit like many others, but they are still in boxes currently in our guest bedroom. The infant carrier is getting heavy, but I love that I can move him without waking him since he usually falls asleep in the car!

No problem! I totally understand! There were several more convos about it, but that was the only one I could find easily.

  • Love, love, love A1's Evenflow Symphony. We probably buy A2 the same.
