Is LO afraid of anything?

I just noticed this week that LO is acting scared of something. There's this commercial that has a Mr. Potato Head advertising chips or something. Every time it comes on and LO is in the room he starts screaming and crying and comes to get in our laps. As soon as it goes off, he's fine again.

Has your LO started showing fear yet? If so, what's he/she afraid of?

For the first time he was scared of my moms boss's husband. When the guy touched him, he started to cry. He also doesn't like being in a room by his self. He will start screaming when me or DH leave the room. when I go the bathroom I now have a screaming baby in the other room while having my 3 year in the bathroom with me.

He is terrified of a little puppy that moves and squeaks. He pushes it away from him, cries, and crawls into our laps. It's pretty funny. He was also scared of the sharks at the zoo.

Recently, he decided the vacuum was scary- and when the dog goes nuts, so does he.

Leaves, but he will reach out and poke them a little now then curl back into my shoulder. I don't think we go outside enough.

Yes! He doesn't like grass. Which my Mom said I was the same when I was a baby.

Just this week, she is scared (or just hates) the bath. I'm hoping it is a phase!

@No longer the best glad we're not the only ones! Grass is not quite molten lava but certainly not something to be enjoyed.

I'm sure leaves would be on par with grass but we don't have any where I take him out to play. He cries as soon as he touches it. And he's a pretty chill dude. Weird.

The vacuum. Every time I turn it on, even if she's in the bedroom, she starts crying and screaming. But yet she'll walk to the vacuum or crawl around it. It's very odd lol

Needless to say I've been avoiding it lately, and looking for a smaller stick vacuum instead.

He's started getting upset about 50% of the time when I blow my nose, which given the back-to-back colds he's passed on to me from daycare, is getting a little old.

He also I think is now afraid of the dog barking. He used to think it was funny, but the last time one of our dogs did he started crying. I suppose that's perhaps a healthy reaction than being amused?

She cries after turning up the volume knob on our surround sound and the result of the sound getting loud. She also doesn't like bullet noises and such, but isn't too afraid.

Mine hates the vacuum, too, but I think it's more that the high-pitched sound bothers her. I have to wait to vacuum when she's not around. Ugh...

Nothing that I can tell. He does notice thunder occasionally and the blender, but more in a curious what's that kind of way. And when we sneeze or cough, he will mock us and do it, too. He thinks it's a game.

His ball popping dinosaur toy that my dad got him for Christmas. He likes it if it's off, but if I turn it on he flips out. He also used to hate guys with beards, but enough of our friends had them this winter that he got over it.

Strangers.

Let me clarify: strangers to him. We went to my cousin's first communion and my aunt came running up to hold him right when we walked in and he lost it.

Two of my closest friends, a couple who is thinking about having kids. She cries every time she sees them. I tell them it's not them and that she cries around a lot of people, but I'm totally lying.
