I know it's HDBD but I have to AW Lincoln in his helmet. We got it this morning. I was bummed that that he had to get one since he has already been through so much, but his cranial index was in the "severe" category so of course we knew it was best. And there actually is an upside. It holds his NG tube back away from his face so he doesn't accidentally pull on it. He pulled his tube all the way out on Monday
so this is the part of the helmet I am actually excited about. He has been fine with it so far today and even took a nap in it! He is a sweaty mess but that's expected. As usual, he's all smiles.
Re: DS got his helmet PIP
So looks like the tube is staying for a good while longer, but we are being seen at our hospital's specialized feeding clinic soon to be evaluated and given an intensive feeding/nutrition plan so that we can continue progress with solids and the sippy. We want to be proactive to avoid any future feeding aversions for him so he can hopefully progress to eating normally as he grows!
2) when my daughter was under weight, the pedi suggested we add extra olive oil to everything, including her milk. it helped her get back on the curve. so maybe that is something you can talk to your pedi about too. she's dairy-free, so no butter, but if it were me, i'd prefer olive oil over butter..so maybe you can have some options?
