Babies Getting Stuck...Anyone Else?

Is anyone else running into issues with their LO's testing their new rolling skills at night and getting their limbs stuck in between the cradle/crib spindles (or whatever they're called)?  B woke up three times last night crying because he got stuck.  He's gotten so that he plays with the side of the crib by grabbing it and curling his toes on the spindle/board thing and then when he falls asleep, his foot slips out.  One time he got himself positioned so he had an arm out the top, an arm out the side and a foot out the other side.  I'm trying to figure out how to fix it, but the only thing I can think of would be one of those mesh bumper things....Thoughts???  I just want to avoid him getting hurt : (  Thanks!!!

  • Mesh Bumpers for the win!!! They're awesome and no arm nor leg will get stuck.

    Yup. Breathable bumpers.

  • LO doesn't sleep in a crib but a couple nights ago he scooted(more like inchwormed) so he got his head inside one of the cubbies on his cube shelf.  I think he would benefit from a helmet.
  • I just ordered breathable bumpers for this same reason.

  • I LOVE our breathable bumper! DS is all over the place right now and it has really helped keep him from getting stuck.
  • We have breathable bumpers, but LO still got her leg stuck the other day. She's a crazy gymnast in there.

  • This was happening to Neva so we put the breathable bumper on. She's just fine now :)

  • Thanks Ladies! I just didn't know how much they helped! Off to Amazon : )

  • We haven't used the breathable bumpers, but he's in a sleep sack at night and that's been working for us. Just makes it a little hard for him to shove his feet in there.

  • Luke isn't getting stuck but he bangs his head on the bars now that he can get up on hands and knees. Unfortunately the breathable bumpers aren't helping that. He is currently sporting a little bump from afternoon nap head banging....
  • We've also been using the mesh breathable bumpers for a couple months. DS was moving all around the crib way before he started rolling. He traumatized everyone at daycare because he got his leg stuck after he started rolling (though I really couldn't believe it had never happened to anyone else before). They won't use the breathable bumpers though because of state regulations.
