I remember reading a post about this before but couldn't find it on my phone... Does anyone remember the website that you can order a breast pump and use your insurance to pay? Thanks!
My insurance covered one with my DD and surprisingly enough they cover one a year. So I'll probably take advantage of it again. I called my insurance company ahead of time to find out how it worked. I couldn't get it until my DD was born and then my midwife (or your ob/gyn) had to write a "prescription" for it and fax it to the insurance company. Then it came in the mail about 7 business days later. With my secondary insurance you still needed the prescription but then you called a special medical supply company they worked with and they let you pick between 2 or 3 and then you could go pick it up locally or it would be mailed. I went with the one my primary insurance offered because it was a high end medala just like what's regularly sold in stores.
So long story short, I would call your insurance company and ask them how you get a covered breast pump to see how it works for them.
I called my insurance co any to ask I my policy covered a pump. It does. The way mine works is that any time within 30 days of giving birth I can go to a Target pharmacy, show my insurance card, and get it on the spot. There are other locations I can get one, but I forget where. Sao if I were you I'd call your insurance company and ask.
Agree with PPs. My insurance (cigna envoy) let me purchase at Target and reimbursed me, but I know each company is different so you should definitely check on their specifics.
Definitely call to get all the details because my insurance will only reimburse for a manual breast pump up to $28, better than nothing I guess but those are important details to know before making a purchase:). Good luck!!:)
My insurance doesn't cover one We're grandfathered in to an old policy. I guess it's supposed to change next January but that doesn't help me too much.

I plan to get mine via insurance, but my friend that just gave birth advised me to start looking into it sooner rather than later since, per usual, insurance crap takes longer and is more of a pain in the butt than you expect.
My insurance told me, due to law, they must cover 100% as long as I use an in-network provider. So, I'm wondring if it varies state-by-state, hearing stories of only covering up to certain percentages now. They made it sound like it wasn't THEIR policy, but law. I know someone who had a baby 3 months ago that only got up to $150, so it must have just changed. That said, I can't find the pump everyone recommends (freestyle), so I have to go with the In-style, but it seems pretty close.

I'd didn't just change again it is still the new Obama Care policy. The problem is a lot of policies are grandfathered or they cover the retail percent and not the markup of the company. It is different still for basically every insurance.
