    1) Due date? How many weeks are you? What size is baby?   39 weeks.  Due 5/20.

    2) Age at delivery? (optional)
      41

    3) Any other children? Furbabies?
1 tired dog.  We had thunderstorms all night so he stayed in our closet, shivering.

    4) How are you feeling? New symptoms this week?   I feel fine, dammit!   I would like to see SOME signs of progress.

    5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?
       weekly checkup tomorrow.

    QOTW:
The SSA recently released the list of most popular names for 2013.  (https://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/).   How important to you is a name's popularity in your selection process?   I was targeting a name out of the top 500 for the first name.  Our chosen name was in the mid 500s in 2012 and now is in the mid 400s for 2013.   But we'll stick with it.  Too late in the game to change now.   We are still undecided on a middle name however.

  • 1) Due date? How many weeks are you? What size is baby?  8/30 and 24w3d

    2) Age at delivery? (optional)  40

    3) Any other children? Furbabies?  1 dog. @QOTR we had storms last night too and ours was hiding out in the basement most of the night. When we finally coaxed him to come into the bedroom upstairs, he went right under the bed and stayed there most of the night. poor thing.

    4) How are you feeling? New symptoms this week?  feeling fine...which is also the response I've been giving to 2 male coworkers who ask me that question on a daily basis ever since I told everyone at work. Holy crap dudes, do you really think I'm going to tell you I'm constipated, tired and don't feel like working? (shaking my head in amazement)  No new symptoms to report either and still don't have any cravings. bummer.

    5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?  Other than my coworkers, people are being overly cautious. I went to put back a chair at work and a male coworker insisted that I don't do it and he will. The chair was a cheap plastic folding chair that weighs about 3 pounds. And my MIL questioned if I should be vacuuming and shortly after my FIL said not to go downstairs to get him a drink. Ummm, what? I don't have any restrictions so suddenly I can't go up and down stairs or vacuum?  I know they mean well but ugh.

    QOTW:
We haven't landed on a name yet but how popular it is won't factor into the decision. If we like it, we like it. I was one of 3 with the same name in a class of about 25 kids (elementary school) and we all thought it was fun to have the same name. By the time I got to high school there were 5 of us with the same name.

    1) Due date? How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
    Due May 24th- I am 38 weeks +
    Baby is a pumpkin
I am in shock that it is almost time. I feel like the past 9mo have flown by.

    2) Age at delivery?
    38

    3) Any other children? Furbabies?  Besides my husband, this is my first :)

    4) How are you feeling? New symptoms this week?
I'm feeling pretty good but tired. By the end of the day, I am done and look like a 90 year old getting up off the couch/out of a chair. I am having the wonderful "Lightning bolt/crotch" pain after walking long distances but no contractions yet.

    5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?
Have been going for my weekly checkups and we are not moving along. Zero effacement, Zero dilation. My OB told me "he's still pretty far up there." My husband and I think he is nested and comfortable and not ready.

Sleep is getting to be impossible. It's horrible.

@QOTR thanks for starting check-in and I hope your LO gets things going soon! Though its good you feel fine in the meantime!

I'm using a mobile thing which I don't normally and don't know how to copy and paste the questions. But since I dont know when I'll get to doing a proper birth story, here goes:

My LO is now 5 1/2 days old as an outside baby! Last Tuesday my fluid levels were way too low so I got admitted right then for induction. Since her heartrate and everything else looked good they did induction with cervadil which I was OK with and gave it plenty of time to do its thing. I went into labor late Wednesday night and she was born Thursday morning May 8th - a day after her due date so NOT sharing my (late as of yesterday)mom's birthday (thank you whatever power made that be!). 7 pounds 9 ounces 21 inches and perfect except for jaundice but has so far not been bad enough to need to be in light box.

She is a sweet snugglebug (except for screaming bloody murder at every diaper change) and we basically can't bear to ever put her down. She is sleeping in my lap/arms now. :)

First child. 2 cats one of whom is fine with the baby and the other of whom is not at all sure about this weird new presence.

    I'm 39.
I feel pretty fine, really. My midwife is AWESOME!! Sore boobs from BFing but hoping that will pass soon.

Names ... well ... my husband is from India and we decided to choose a name from his mother tongue so it's probably not too high on that census list. We avoided very common Indian names too though as well as any names already used in his family. Our goal was a prouncable and not too teasable name with a meaning we liked. I hope we did ok on the first 2 criteria. He is very computer security cautious so I won't type her name to avoid this page showing on a Google search of the name but it is a Marathi name meaning, "After the rain" and her middle name is the name of a goddess of grain / food / providing plenty and you could look it up if you're curious. Or not. Whatever. Both names start with A.

    End of novel.

    2) Age at delivery? (optional)
      43, still

    3) Any other children? Furbabies?
       1 DD, 1 DS, 2 cats

    4) How are you feeling? New symptoms this week?   Sinus pressure is still killing me - this is the 4th week of a constant sinus pressure headache and I'm sick of it now.

My tummy is sore inside from the continuous beatings the little man is giving it - he's a feisty one for sure! I can't remember my other two kids being this active.

    5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?
Docs on Friday, driving to Chicago next week to see a gig at House of Blues... very excited.

Not even a little - I love a good biblical/Hebrew name (although we're not religious in the slightest) and so we have chosen Zachary Joseph. It's down in the 70's which suits us just fine.

  • 1) Due date? How many weeks are you? What size is baby?

Nov 30... 11 weeks...  lime (or apricot)...

    2) Age at delivery? (optional)

I turn 39 7 weeks before my due date

    3) Any other children? Furbabies?

A 6.5 year old daughter.  No pets.

    4) How are you feeling? New symptoms this week?

Feeling ok.  A bit tired...  and some red spotting Sunday night.  My Chinese doctor is not happy at all and sent me home with a mountain of rotty herbs to dissolve in water and drink.  Western medicine just says "relax, it happens sometimes.  Hopefully you will be ok."  But Eastern medicine knows it is not ideal and tries to be proactive.  I actually like that.

    5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?

NT US next week.  I hope all  is fine in there.  :(

None of our names (for our current daughter and for this potential future one) are in the top 100.  Fortunately, they aren't even in the top 150.

42 at delivery.... am I the oldest, just curious!

1 daughter who is 21, and a kitty and two dogs, they are my fur babies!

This week I'm dealing with aversions, nothing tastes good but no nausea.

13th week and the furthest I've ever made it with a second.... we found out gender yesterday.

Rant:  I joined  another board and it went horribly... it was horrific, in fact everything I posted was mocked, I was cursed at and ridiculed for a post,  and I'm truly looking forward to a new board with positivity.    So far so good ladies!

Have a beautiful day for you and your babies!!!

@outdoorgirl10 - I've had the same experience.  It's cute in a way, but a head-scratcher sometimes too.   A man at the grocery store rushed over to help me unload my cart to the belt, which is nice, but I had put everything IN the cart already, so obviously I was capable of lifting it all.  It makes me want to invite them home to clean the house if they are really all that concerned about me working too hard. :)

Good luck with your scan today @flyinmommy !

@KrisD6, isn't it strange the difference between morning & night?   I too feel beaten up by the end of the day, but when I wake up, I'm a brand new woman again.

@springbeduk2 - It's great to hear from you!   Thanks for sharing an update and congratulations!

@nikkiuk - have fun at your concert!

@morrocojade - I'm sorry about your spotting scare!   I hope the herbs help.

@Iheartscraps - I think you'll find this board to be a kinder place.  I'm sorry you've had a bad experience on other boards.

@zoocrewmom - It's so fun to see a 2015 due date on our board!   I hope it's a smooth ride for you.

    2) Age at delivery? (optional) 40! :-)

    3) Any other children? Furbabies? 1 DD: born 6/1/13 who will be just shy of 19 months old when #2 arrives. 1 lab-Rottie mix Moxie (6 yrs old) and 1 orange tabby Elijah aka Il Duce (14 years old).

    4) How are you feeling? New symptoms this week? Freaking exhausted. A little nauseous but only randomly during the day and more often in the evening.

    5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves? First appt. is 5/30 to hear a HB (hopefully).

The SSA recently released the list of most popular names for 2013.  (https://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/).   How important to you is a name's popularity in your selection process? I always loved Sophia but that got wicked popular, so it was a no go. I'd prefer my child not to have to have a nickname or a last name added to his/her name all the time because there are too many kids with the same name.

  • 1) Due date? How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 11/20 will be a peach tomorrow!

    2) Age at delivery? (optional) 35

    3) Any other children? Furbabies? 1 loving cute dog that means the world to me and my husband

    4) How are you feeling? New symptoms this week? I've been feeling pretty darn good, especially since about week 11, boobs sore on and off, still peeing a LOT, no other symptoms really, haven't had many to begin with, yay! Oh, wait, I am terribly emotional! Hormone rollercoaster, holy cow.

    5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves? We have an appointment tomorrow, we are opting out of all the genetic testing right now so I'm not sure what the appointment will even involve, but I am really, really hoping we can hear a heartbeat or something to confirm the pregnancy is going well so far.

Iheartscraps  Sounds like you were on the same birth month board as me, it is a tough one, definitely a lot of not so nice comments on there. It was driving me crazy how much drama, I like this board so far :-)

OMG, the emotional stuff is crazy! I am crying these days for all sort of reasons-- a video of a kid my daughter's age about to walk, a "Once Upon A Time" episode (seriously?!? That show is so corny!), the fact that neither Dunkin Donuts or D'Angelos delivers...

  • Anatomy scan went well today. Baby is measuring about 2 weeks big.i had a hunch he'd be a big one. The scan showed I have a marginal cord insertion, but the OB didn't seem too concerned so I'm trying to do the same. We get another ultrasound in 8 weeks to make sure baby is growing properly.
