A reason you love being OAD

This morning as i lay in bed at 7am ds came into the room to "wake me up." I pretended was snoring and he says "wake up mommy wake up!!".... then he gets super close to my face and says in the sweetest voice lol "copies" which is his word for coffee! It cracked me up. 

Then i looked at DH and said i don't think a newborn will be that nice about waking us up!!

    Lol @ copies. How cute is that.

     

    We usually wake up before DS so we're the ones telling him to get up. He likes to sleep in.

     Having to only throw one birthday party a year. Being out of the infant stage. Being able to give my BF all  of DD's old clothes, toys etc. I only have to cry once when DD starts preschool in the fall. We are able to give her our undivided attention and outings are much easier with just the 3 of us.

    Lately I've been thinking about the long term benefit. I came to the realization that DH and I will be empty nesters, free to travel and have the house to ourselves when we're in our mid forties! My parents still have my youngest brother at home for 3 more years. They're been raising kids for 34 years so far. They had the first night by themselves in our home EVER (!!!) last month while my brother was on his band trip. How exhausting.
