GTKY!

So with all of the newer people on the board, and me sitting on the couch being a bum on a planned day off from school ;), like have a little GTKY question!

So 2 years ago my husband was diagnosed with a stage 2 brain tumor. It was removed but statistics are still egh to say the least. Since that time we created a bucket list because we realized life is too short.

So here's the question:

What is the top item on your bucket list?

Ours is going to Greece!

Re: GTKY!

  • Oh idk...ithink my bucket list would be donate bone marrow or a kidney to someonewho needsit

DH really wants to take me on a trip to where he grew up (Mexico City, Germany and then Switzerland).  So I think that would be our #1 - it would be so much fun to meet all of his extended family and see all the places I've heard so much about.

We've done it like 6 years ago. Egh. It was pretty cool but I got sooooo motion sick from it. Awful! Bonus? I can say what being in a cloud feels like. :)
  • This is a pretty simple, stupid one but I have always wanted to have a bonfire on a beach. It seems like all the beaches now have rules against this kind of thing but I have this romantic image in my head of sitting around a fire on the beach, drinking beer and hanging out with my family and our best buds.

mmmm so many things.. most involving travel/living in another country. Law school. That's number one. Based off of my career after law school, I'll make the others happen.
  • I want to see my book published. In actual paper, not just eBook format. I've got two in eBook. But I want to see my name on the Times Best Seller list.

  • Going to Spain was a big item on my bucket list. We went this past fall, it was amazing.

@KimZach2013- I'm biased because I live in the west but Yellowstone is awesome.

  • Definitely going to Europe! I would also love to be able to speak a foreign language but a trip to Europe is probably a lot more likely.
  • BF has never left the country, and I have a number of times. One of the major things on my own bucket list is to get him out of the country to see more of the world.

Oh, and @absterboss, I'm so sorry you guys have had to deal with that. BUT...your typo made me giggle uncontrollably at work. "We have so many thighs to be thankful for..."

Bahha. Well, I'm not changing it...I DO have so many thighs to be thankful for. ;) Words are hard!
  • Traveling outside of the country. I want to go pretty much anywhere and everywhere.

Fingers crossed that the check tomorrow is good!!
    Thank you!! <3

Second this!  I went when I was a kid and I really want to go back.  DH would just love it, but we'll probably wait until this LO is old enough to enjoy it.

I have no idea what's on my bucket list.  I'll have to think about it.

  • Oh my goodness, I'm sorry to hear that about your husband. I wish you both the best of health for the rest of your lives!!

I have a few things on my list, but what I would really love is to have all my student loan debt paid off, and then treat ourselves to an amazing two week long vacation. Somewhere that has equal parts lie-on-the-beach-and-do-nothing and get-out-and-have-adventures, since my husband and I value different things (guess which one I am.)

  • I've been to Australia. I would love to go back but take H with me. I went when I was in high school. I would love to go to Greece and Italy as well.

H wants to travel all of US when we get older.

  • I don't really have a bucket list, but I like the PP answer about having a baby.  I feel like I've been waiting so long...

Otherwise, yeah, like everyone else, it would have to be travel-related.  I've never been to Europe, and Australia's on the list as well...

Also, learning photography.  I'm finally working on that and just spent a bunch of money on a camera.
  • Travel to Europe.

  • I must go to New York City. I don't know why, but I've always wanted to go there. It's not that far from me so I don't know what's taking me so long to get there.

Or maybe go to one of those tropical resorts with the private huts on stilts over the water. I'm afraid of water, but they look amazing.
My ex & I stayed in one of these during our honeymoon in Tahiti and it was amazing. (I love the ocean and water though). We had an overwater bungalow on Manihi (which is not a very popular island). It had a glass coffee table that was hollow and connected to a hole in the floor (so you could see the ocean through the floor). If you removed the top, you could feed fish through it! This is why you always read the little informational packets in the rooms; we totally would not have known about feeding the fish.

Anyway. Overwater bungalow: totally worth it. Ours had exterior stairs right into the water and we could literally go snorkeling in a coral reef from our 'hotel room'.
I want this!  Your honeymoon sounds AMAZING!  I love the beach and all things water related.  DH and I would have a blast with living room fish feeding!

  • Travel is definitely high on my bucket list - Australia & New Zealand are at the top of the list. We went to Italy for 10 days a year ago and it was amazing. Also, DH and I would both like to own a 2nd home near water...ocean or lake. Someplace that we can go in the summer or fall with our kids and family and make a bunch of awesome memories.

i want to go to morocco.  no clear good reason why, except for that when i was 10 some friend's of my parents that had traveled the world said it was their favorite country to go to ever.  ever since then, that's where i want to go.

i've been many countries south of the states, but not quite made it across the ocean... it's hard when there are so many spanish speaking countries and both my hubby and i speak spanish.  hopefully we can make it to spain at least!

  • Travel!!! DH and I have been very fortunate to be able to travel to Europe a few times in recent years but there is just soooo much more that we want to see. We are also lucky I suppose that we are both on the same page that we would prefer owning a smaller home (haha in the future of course, too much student loan debt to even think about that now) and living modestly if it means being able to have these travel experiences. We also really hope to share that with DS.
