So I just had a 37 week U/S to check measurements & weight because the doc thought he maybe big (DH is 6'4 & I am 5'2). The u/s tech said that he was measuring 33-35 weeks!
I am officially freaked out wondering if there is something wrong or something I should have been doing differently. I have called the OB & am waiting for a return call...... but has anyone experienced something like this? Should I be concerned? need some peace of mind.
Re: Freaking Out about measurements *SS*
Married DH 7/30/11

CHC arrived 6/2/14
"Significant error was seen while estimating fetal weight by ultrasound. Depending only on the fetal ultrasound for the estimation of fetal weight can lead to unnecessary obstetrical intervention. It is thus necessary to correlate the ultrasound findings with clinical examination."

Tech: the leg & arm measurements are approximately 33 weeks & total measurement is 33-35
Me: is it normal to be off by that much? Is that ok?
Tech: your doctor will have to explain it to you.
What! Seriously! Then why the F did you say something in the first place!

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.
My doctor said that there is a 2 poind error rate on Growth ultrasounds. I wouldn't worry, OP.
Wow ur tech was a jerk...either say nothing or tell me everything!!! I would have been pissed at that response!

@TheMrs820, I'm sorry the tech scared you but if it puts your mind at ease, as other posters said, these measurements can be way off. A friend of mine had a baby girl in January and according to the ultrasound she was barely 5 pounds but ended up weighing 7.2. And another friend was told her baby was be over 10 pounds at her final ultrasound and he was 7.8 at birth so as long as all the vitals look good, you should be fine. I think the measurements are really a guessing game.
