success! finally made it back into the gym.

After the past couple of weeks of nausea and feeling exhausted I finally made it back into the gym. I took it lighter (35 minutes on the bike). However I realized that watching this week's episode of Chicago Fire was not a good call. I was fighting tears throughout the episode.

  • I commend you!  I hope I can get back in soon!  Though, I have been taking nightly power walks with the SO.  So, that is helping my energy.
    Great job!

I'm with ya! After a couple of weeks of all the junk food and none of the serious gym activity I made it back in this week! I have to remind myself constantly that even though getting there is a serious challenge, I always feel better for having gone. Even if it's not the workout I would have had 9 weeks ago.
Felt like such a badass pregnant lady leaving spin last night! :)

  • I'm 7 weeks and 2 days. Since morning sickness hit 2 weekends ago I've only made it to the gym 3 days a week and only used the elliptical for about 30 mins. I guess whatever I can do I will just do.

That's an accomplishment. I'm 10 weeks today and just now started doing any exercise again yesterday. It will get easier
  • Good for you! I've had a hard time doing any exercising. But I try...

That is so awesome, I really need to get back to the gym myself.  Also, apparently I really need to watch Chicago Fire?  I've never seen it but everyone is talking about it.

You so need to watch Chicago fire and Chicago pd. go back and star on season 1. Season 2 ended last night.

@carrie3844 - That is an accomplishment.  When I was suffering from morning sickness I would have loved to get to the gym 3x a week.

  • Is anyone struggling with breathing in the gym? I am terrible about controlling my breathing as it is but this morning's work out about killed me. It was a 3 round workout and each round started with a quarter mile run. That left me gasping for air! I feel like an idiot being the last one to finish and feeling completely fried at the end. Can't wait until I am showing enough to be able to blame my bad workouts on baby! Any hints to getting through a workout?

YES! I have zero advice, but I totally relate... in spin class last night where I was visably not up to my pre-pregnant game, I wanted to like shout out, I'm trying! I'm PREGNANT! Shouldn't you all be applauding me just for being here?!? But alas, at the moment it just looks like I packed on 20lbs in my 2 weeks away from the gym. Womp womp.

I think part of the reason workouts are supposed to be more difficult is because we're producing more blood. So your heart is already working at a higher rate than it was pre-pregnancy. This makes it much easier for us to get winded during a workout. Don't worry about getting breathless, and don't push yourself too hard. You're just getting a harder workout quicker than you used to :)
