Your favorite must have's

I'm starting my shopping list for the twins. Do you have any suggested brand names that have worked best for you? There are so many out there I don't know which to focus on.
I'm starting with the essentials:

Car seat
Bottles
Stroller
Pacifier
Crib (4 in 1: is it worth it?)
Nursing pillow

If there's an item you found very helpful that's not on my list, please include!!!

Thanks so much!

DSNG stroller for me has been a lifesaver. My boys are almost 10 months now and just outgrowing it. Not gonna lie, it makes me kind of sad that we have to switch to our other stroller.

Our convertible cribs ended up being cheaper than a lot of cribs only... well, for the crib to toddler bed phase. Side rails to transform to full size are extra for our model. Look online at places, too. Babies R Us has mostly their most expensive models in the store... and their still very nice but less expensive available online only. Tricky tricky.
  • I have used the Boppy pillow a lot and may buy a second one so both girls can use the pillow when I want to prop them up together. We have also used our Pack and Play a lot as well as our bouncy seats. For car seats we have the Graco snap and go as well as the Graco stroller that accommodates the seats. So far the car seats have been very easy to use and the girls love taking rides!
  • My twins aren't here yet, but here is what we had for DS that we are duplicating for the twins:

Car seat - Chicco Keyfit 30
Bottles - Loved Tommee tippee, but I would recommend getting a few different types at first to see what your babies like
Stroller - Starting with the Joovy Twin Roo.  Loved how easy my single snap and go was, so I'm hoping I will like this as much.  I haven't decided on which stroller I want next though.  Debating between the Baby Jogger City Select and double city mini
Pacifier - We use Nuks, but like bottles, you may want to try a few different types to see what your babies like.
Crib (4 in 1: is it worth it?) - We have 3 Ikea Sundvik cribs.  The only convert to toddler beds, but we didn't want anything that converted to full size beds because we will most likely move everyone to twin beds.  Love the ikea cribs and you can't beat the price!
Nursing pillow - I'm probably going to get the my best friend twin pillow.

Additionally, we will have two Rock n plays and two boppys to lay the twins on.  We have one swing, and I'm waiting to see if they both like the swing before buying another.
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • My girls are almost 6 weeks. The only things inise consistently at this point are the rock n plays and my medela symphony pump.

I spent hundreds on dollars on bottles and eventually found dr browns work best. As for pacifiers mam works best for us, but every baby is different.

We have the joovy twin roo and have used it a few times and like it.

    Ella - 10/19/10
    Julia and Aubrey - 4/3/14

  • Definitely the my breast friend twin if you're planning to try tandum breastfeeding. I use it every feeding every day. And I agree with everyone about the double snap-n-go stroller it's a necessity.

    A few random thoughts:

My twins aren't here yet but I'm getting the Twin Z Pillow - I've heard really great things.

I've also had several people recommend the Nose Frieda to me.

    Me - 35. DH - 40. TTC #1 since 9/2010.
    IUI #1-2 BFN
    IUI #3 BFP = C/P

    Nose Frieda is amazing.
Also, Aden and Anais swaddles. We use those for bf covers, swaddles, burp clothes, car seat/stroller covers, etc...
And diapers. You need millions of diapers. Try to get on amazon moms.

Car seat: I loved my Chicco Keyfit 30s. they were comfy to carry, easy to use and cute
For my convert, I have the Alpha Omega Elite. I'm told it doesn't work well as a booster but when the boys hit that age I'm going to let them choose what it looks like

Bottles: John could use any bottle. he was easy to feed, easy to burp... Caleb needed Dr Browns.

Stroller: Infant: Double Snap and Go. all the way, no regrets. best thing EVER
Older: I love my City Select, but I bought it used so price wasn't a big factor. But from using it, I think I'd be tempted to buy it full price too. Instead I got all the handy-dandy attachments (HyChair, Parent consul, seat tray, cooler... looking in to getting the bug cover too) for it and upped its resale price (score)

Pacifier: they only like Nuk. babies are picky. don't hoarde one style

Crib (4 in 1: is it worth it?) Ours are enjoying sharing a crib.

Nursing pillow: My Breast friend. but I used to lounge them in their Boppy Newborn Loungers on either side of me on the couch for bottles :)

    Other Random things:
a good camera, lots of burp rags, an eye mask for daytime naps

The things we liked best were/are:

    DSNG
    Rock'n'plays
Swings (mine only used them for a short time, but they loved them. We bought second hand)
Jumperoo/excersaucer (we have one of each. Each baby prefers one over the other. We also bought twm second hand)
    Swaddle me swaddle blankets

Also, we have ikea cribs and high chairs and love them. Great value, which is great when you have to buy two.

I second the rock n play and nursing pillow. Srsly , don't know what I would do w.out them!

Also LOVE the A&A swaddle blankets (I always thought people were just being hoity toity w. recommending those suckers, but they are awesome, way bigger than regular swaddles so much easier to fold the baby into them).

We love the Advent bottles and would also recommend the double snap n go for the carseat stroller way easier than trying to car 2 car seats around. I had a 4 in 1 crib for my 4 year old..never converted it because kept needing it for new babies so I personally would just go regular crib and move them directly to a twin bed when they are ready to move out of the crib. That is what has worked for us thus far.

  • we are also having twins due in november!
we were stroller hunting last night and the city mini select with 2nd seat is what we're going with!
Check out Albee Baby! They have loads of things at a fraction of the cost.
from friends of twins we're also registering for:
    2 bouncy seats
2 booster seat/high chairs. no large high chairs, they take up too much room.
1 pack and play with diaper changing capability
    1 swing
    1 jumperoo
    1 exersaucer
    1 floor mat
    2 bumbos
those are the big things right now!
    also- 2 umbrella strollers
2 baby carriers like bjorns. this way you can carry one and use the stroller if you need to go solo anywere.

  • DSNG, 2 RNPs, (they slept in these overnight forever and it was the ONLY thing that calmed them down when they were colicky for the first 6ish weeks of their lives), PNP, a swing (you don't really need two), and this thing:  https://www.amazon.com/Bella-Baby-BB-Dot-Fabric-Buddy/dp/B004CIM5K4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1400079559&sr=8-1&keywords=baba+buddy
