Too anxious to sleep -vent

Made the mistake of reading about still borns and other late term fetal deaths last weekend. Haven't been able to really sleep since.

My Due date isn't til the 28th but I just want it to happen now so she can be on the outside and where I can see her and make sure she is ok...

Had a busy day Saturday and at 8pm I realized I hadn't felt her move for a while- called the on-call nurse and she had me drink something sugary and lay on my left side. Baby A started moving almost immediately but I've been on high alert and freaked ever since.

Have my 38 wk apt on Thursday. Wonder what the dr will say. Maybe I can convince her to induce me!

  • I agree. It's easy to get carried away and freak out about the scary stuff but if baby is healthy in there than at this moment that's where baby needs to be. And pp is so right the scary stuff doesn't end there my son is 8 and I'll hear a story or have a horrible thought and I just want to rush my baby into my arms (he'll always be my baby lol) being a mom sucks in that way your mind never stops thinking. Try and take it easy relax and feel yourself with positive things :)
  • ya I was freaking out about that stuff at the beginning. don't worry it's just going to drive you insane. your this far along and things like that are verry rare. I just keep telling myself God is in control and have faith he will keep baby safe as he has so far . just relax and breath! you'll be worrying about your child even when he/ she is in their 50s lol
  • Induction is not all it's cracked up to be and it doesn't always work. I've been at the hospital since 3pm on Monday and still no baby. My induction was for blood pressure issues but baby doesn't wanna come out. I know now if rather be at home puttering around the house and waiting for labor because this is stressful and I still see no light at the end of the tunnel. Ask the OB office if you can get twice a week non stress tests done. Then you will have more reassurance baby is doing well

    This.
  • Given some of the recent events that have occurred with members of this board, we're all feeling that anxiety right now. But unless something is actually wrong, there is no reason to induce. See the multiple threads going on about the same thing for all of the reasons why...
    This.

  • A doctor likely won't induce you because you're 'scared' anyway. It's completely normal to feel anxious about the potential event. You need to try and relax as much as possible and let nature work it's course.
And I don't know how far your body has progressed, if at all, but I PROMISE..you don't want an unnecessary induction.
